Last night's episode was terrific. Uncomfortable to watch at times, in a good way.

The fake movie he made about hacking an asteroid, The Web, was tremendous.

UHHHH this show is on an incredible hot streak. Jack Garbarino telling morning TV anchors about Dende, the "jungle child" he worked with, being ripped apart and eaten by baboons is maybe one of the funniest things I have ever seen on a television. Holy shit.

The best part about the Dumb Starbucks episode was how he got the lawyer to sign the document stating the lawyer would basically take the fall for the entire thing. Brilliant.

I passed this show on our Roku menu dozens of times before giving it a chance. My god, I've nearly fallen off the sofa from laughing so much at certain scenes: the dragon parade through the hotel lobby, the attempt at cremating the pizza cadaver (complete with dough schlong, of course) in the oven, the ghost writer in the moving fitness craze episode (even Nathan holds back from laughing), and so on. Any show this ambitious will have its duds, but when it hits it is demented genius. Totally NC.

Watched all of David about a week or so after it dropped.

Somehow, despite it not being in my wheelhouse stylistically, I kinda liked it. The acting style was rather wooden, and the score evoked a sort of suburban West Coast New Age feel that seemed reminiscent of Late '80s/Early '90s Los Angeles independent fare. This put me in a trance but the movie was concise and punctuated by enough dark humor that it didn't come off as being too self-serious and full of itself.

Also, while I haven't done my homework and don't know if this is a coincidence or not, I am pretty sure David contained a reference to The Devil, Probably (the part wherein the psychoanalyst stuffed his fee into a drawer full of other money). So, it got extra points for that.


Still haven't seen much of Nathan for You.
