True, the park system is very nice, despite your asshole governor's attempts to fuck them during his time as county executive.

If things were slightly different, would strongly consider moving there. Really like it. Except for the fact that most people seem to consistently drive 2-5 miles an hour below the speed limit on the expressway at all times. That's what the Pete Seeger song 51 Miles an Hour Through Milwaukee is about.

My beautiful, sweet wife did not get her dream job down here in Georgia. It went to someone who is ALMOST as qualified, but is much, much less likely to come through the door throwing bombs and asking hard questions. Being a revolutionary in all things isn't easy, and the pay is shit.

But now she's seriously thinking about making a move on Beerville. Anyone in this German Socialist Paradise have deep connects in the theatre world? Hit me up.

We'll likely not go anywhere in the short term. We won't be able to sell our house with the kitchen the way it is and I have some time to go before I am fully vested in the retirement system where I work- once I cross that magic deadline, though, I have guaranteed retirement income (unless Georgia gets its own Scott Walker, deadeyed brownshirt and Koch gimp that he is) and we will be relocating.

Get at me, you fucks.

Yes If you are going to live in the city proper that is the hood you want to be in. I can't live there because it would make my work drive insane.

I live in Shorewood now, which has a better school system but is not as close to the cool bars/venues.

If you bought a 1600 sq ft house two blocks from the beach in Chicago, it would not be $225k.

::added::
Are there, like, plague rats in Milwaukee or something? Look at this fucking PALACE. $240k

Milwaukee: Where life is cheap and homes are cheaper...Even in the suburbs...

And lots of dry basements to set up drum kits.

That is about right for that area, if you had looked about 5 years ago it would have been a lot less, I would say about $180,000.

Houses do not get really expensive until they are right on the lake.

If they built that supertrain between Milwaukee and Chicago, I would totally live in Milwaukee and just commute to Chicago for work. But houses would likely cost twice as much so it's a catch 22.
