Trapped-in-a-Room-Dome: FM Dave Grohl vs. Jack Black

Postby mrcancelled on Sat Dec 02, 2017 11:46 pm

You have to be locked in an empty room, for a very long time, with one guy or the other.

Thankfully, there's no musical equipment in the room, so you don't have to be concerned with their music for now.

I don't have anything personal against either of these guys, nor any reason to believe they're bad people or anything. But goddamnit I'm just trying to read my book and pass the time and this hyperactive dork won't stop making dumb noises or inexplicably getting interviewed for every music documentary that ever gets made. HELP.

I love Jack Black so no contest. I might have to hold a knife to his throat to get him to admit he's Gearmandude but otherwise I think we'd get along just fine.

Jack Black fitted with an electric collar that gives him an incapacitating shock if he scat-sings.

I'm sure either one would be pleasant company. And if it was Dave Grohl then a music documentary crew would certainly locate you and have you rescued within hours.

There are way worse entertainers someone could be locked in a room with...Really, think about it.

I could chat with either one of those guys. I'm only a little older than them, I'm sure I have a lot in common with them, besides the millionaire part. As long as there's food and drinks, I'm good. Lock the door.

What if the options were Jack White or Dane Cook?

I don't know anything about Dane Cook. I can't answer that question.

Ha, Dane Cook actually crossed my mind for one of these, but it was tough for me to think of anyone close to being as insufferable as he is. Maybe Newt Gingrich or something. I don't really know anything about Jack White.

There may be no instruments but there will be singing with Jack Black.

FM Dave Grohl seems like he’d at least be able to chill, and in a not annoying way. He is a PRF FM afterall. Jack seems needy.

I could ask Grohl about DC hardcore stories, plus he could probably relay some of Pat Smear's LA hardcore stories. Jack might make me laugh once or twice but would get annoying really quickly.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

Dumb question but I'm fairly new here: What does the 'FM' before certain persons' names on here mean?
- "Whatever happened to that album?"
- "I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall, and it like, shattered."

Not dumb. It’s an old and inside joke around here. FM = Forum Member. There were rumors in the early days that Grohl had an account on the forum. Thus, at some point, all of us started referring to him as Forum Member Dave Grohl, both because it’s funny and because it kept the rumor alive. It can apply to any of us who have an account but it’s used mostly with Grohl. And as far as I know he probably does have an account and a user name but has never been very active. There’s more well known musicians and other artists around here than anyone realizes.

For example, we know that Vincent Gallo is a registered user and was at one point very active. Here is the epic thread in which he blessed us with his presence. It still blows my mind. I wish he’d come back and continue participating. It still cracks me up to refer to him as FM Vincent Gallo.

http://www.electricalaudio.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=31620&hilit=Vince+gallo

I worked at a coloring facility in LA for awhile after this thread and he was in recoloring Buffalo ‘66 for a blue ray release and I encountered him several times. It took all my restraint to keep my mouth shut.
