I can't make the Chicago show, but when the preorder code was leaked, I considered buying 4 tickets knowing this was going to happen, at which point I could sell them to you guys at cost.

I'm sorry, dudes.

Your best bet is to start checking the ticket site day of. They'll typically release a limited number of tickets with little to no fanfare.

This won't happen when Fugazi reforms in 2024.

All tickets will only be dispersed after achieving at least an 80 percent on a trivia test. If someone only gets above 60 percent, they must have given blood in the past or any of the other charitable activities that will be on list. No exceptions will be made for those who get under 60 percent of the trivia questions right. Even if you've given a kidney.

The people who dropped Yow in 2009, resulting in his ribs cracking, don't get to attend a TJL show again.

Ugh. Put me on the list of those that got hosed by the ticket bots.
If anyone ends up with an extra one, holler. Thanks!

I didn't figure the LA show wouldn't sell out so quickly. Well, looking for a ticket for the LA show.

I’ve been listening to the Touch and Go discography this week and I think I’ve finally come around on “Down”. It’s not nearly as great as it predecessors but it’s got a lot of my live favorites and one or two of their best songs. It also sounds very different from the previous three, and this might be one reason why I reacted so badly for so long. Vocals and guitar are more tame and that affected my enjoyment. But I think I’m finally over it. It’s a solid entry to their body of work.

Unpopular opinion: It's their best, the moment in which they became most truly themselves. Subsequent records are retreads of earlier material. Nothing in their discography before Down sounds like it, and I don't think any bands that came after tJL were able to follow up on it. The weirdest, the best. Definitely the one I come back to the most (with the caveat that the 2009 remaster really brought out the low end and significantly improved the sound).
Prime numbers and tonal clusters with Radiant Republic.

Bass in the Heavy Bombers We're on the PRF Singles Comp Q1.

Sax with Begin By Gathering Supplies.

Terrible News.

I listened to Down for the first time last week, I really enjoyed it.

I remember when I used to read Rolling Stone, they gave this album a really good rating, and the reviewer started his piece by saying, and I paraphrase, "there are some bands that are fake scary (Gwar), some that are a little scary (Slayer), and then there are bands that are genuinely scary, like The Jesus Lizard."

I don't know why I remember this.
- "Whatever happened to that album?"
- "I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall, and it like, shattered."

Down was the first record of theirs that I listened to (around the time I saw them live in England, in 1994) and it's still my favourite one. I think that, objectively, Goat is their best (there's nothing spare in that album, everything is so tight and necessary that when you listen to it intently from beginning to end, the feeling of revelation is truly transforming), but I always go back to Down, which is a bit more bizarre, a bit more exuberant and oblique. Also, in 1994, at 17, I thought the cover was the coolest record cover ever and I still do, more or less.

Yow posted intro of a Monkey Trick rehearsal from yesterday on Twitter.

For 45 seconds you are the singer of the Jesus Lizard waiting to sing. It made my heart skip.
