Apparently they've been playing Theme From Sparta FC at all their recent shows.

Your best bet would be to grab the newest record, Sub-lingual Tablet.

Really hoping that these Aussie/NZ shows mean that MES might actually start considering touring the US again. Even if was just the east coast, I'd totally go out for one of those.

One of the better efforts since YFOC, indeed. Still, some of the straight rock tracks are pretty boring and that growl of Smith's still grates on me. I'd say it's half really good, half boring.

When it first came out I thought it was ok, but I was mostly bored with it. I shelved for six months, came back to it, now I think it's all great.

Outtakes from recent records. Mostly different mixes but it does include the full version of 'Jam Song'! Although I may be the only person in the world who loved that track.

So I listened to Hex Induction Hour the other day - first time I ever listened to a Fall studio album - and I enjoyed most of it. I've also heard the compilation 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong, but I only liked a few songs off of it.

I know they have a few dozen albums - what's a good next step? Live at the Witch Trials?
- "Whatever happened to that album?"
- "I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall, and it like, shattered."

That's definitely a great one. I think the Slates EP shows them at the top of the scrappy art punk sound, not unlike what Wire was doing.

This Nation's Saving Grace is historically the other universally loved Fall album along with Hex.

And Grotesque After The Gramme was my first Fall album, so I'll always love it/recommend it.

The Palace of Swords Reversed compilation collects some great singles and album cuts from that era, I love it to pieces.

If any of those click, march forward into the rest of their career, it gets weird at times, but it's worth it.

It is a shame that this comp has gone by the wayside since it has been superseded by the reissues, bonus tracks, other comps, etc, etc, cuz this is the record where the Fall really clicked for me, along with Hex Enduction Hour.

Not my first Fall record (or even probably even my fifth), but this over view of the era is where it all begun to make sense. As much as I expect sense from the Fall. Fall-sense, let's say.

Superior Viaduct is reissuing Live at the Witch Trials and Dragnet on LP with new liner notes. Should sound better than the Turning Point LP reissues (which I assume was just a CD rip from the Castle remasters.)

Was just listening to YFOC (still great) and I realized I haven't picked up any of the records after that. How are they?

You are in for a wild ride!

"Re-Mit" has some good things on it.

"Ersatz GB" is mostly forgettable.

"Remainderer" EP was very good!

"Sub-Lingual Tablet" is the best of any of these post "YFOC" records.

All are worth a few listens, some more than others.
