Bollocks. I love that record except the last song.

Agreed. Underrated album with lots of great guitar. Though I do like Fork In The Road a little better.

The music is pretty by-the-numbers, and not particularly offensive, but did you guys listen to the lyrics? It's so corny. George Bush sound-bites? It's the 99%ers of Neil Young records.

I've only spent enough time with Americana to pick up the sounds, not the music, but it sounds good and fiery.

United Center, Oct. 11--though seeing them somewhere outdoors like Red Rocks would be nice.

November 10th at Key Arena. Beyond stoked. I saw Neil solo in '99 or so and it was awesome, but I've been waiting a long time to get to see a proper NY&CH show. This will be the first big ass arena show I've gone to in decade or so.

I like the new record.

I'm really thinking of maybe flying out for the Red Rocks show. It'd totally fuck with my summer budget, but shit, why not, right?

As concept albums go you could do a lot worse. There's a lot of killing and dying in those old songs, a lot of betraying and reckoning and such. I'm streaming it now, and while it sounds kinda slapped-together I'll be fucked if I haven't liked basically everything I've heard so far.

Fun waiting game around these parts as the Horse prepares to tour; they usually play one or two warm up shows at small places on the Peninsula, announce it the morning of, and charge ten bucks. Be nice to see them in that kind of venue.

Yup, going to Chicago for my 37th Birthday. See the in-laws, the old lady's college friends, Drink, and see Neil.

I went online to buy tickets through the wxrt pre-sale. $115. Then I was like, fuck it, it looks like the floor seating is still available, I'm going for it. Then they tried to stick me with some shit-ass seats in the back for that price. fuck that. fuck the united center.

Yeah, that's where she scored the tix, lower level. Probably cost a pretty penny. But, with all we've been through, (Oct. 4th is the 1 year anniversary of my cancer diagnosis), plus we haven't been out to see her family and friends in almost 2 years now, it's worth it.

those of you not in the UK might need to do a bit of fancy proxy-footwork. iPlayer 30 minute interview with NY, marking the new album, talking about the past etc
