I can't imagine, nor have I ever met anyone who likes Jay Leno. His show sucks. He has shitty guests, and his jokes are not funny. The same goes for the rest of the late night people, excluding Conan O'Brien, although Letterman is decent sometimes.

Letterman > Leno.

leno's entire show, especially his monologues, are painfully unfunny, and his spiel is the same every night:

(1) bill clinton sure liked sex!
(2) americans sure are fat!
(3) this war in iraq sure is crazy!
(4) george bush sure is dumb!
(5) how about crazy that thing that celebrity did!
(6) black folks and white folks sure are different!
(7) that one guy in my band sure likes to smoke pot!

and my girlfriend pointed out that he repeats the same unfunny "punchline" over and over after pretty much every "joke". god almighty, that is irritating. letterman over leno, easily, and conan over everybody. leno should be put in front of a firing squad.

you forgot:

(8) michael jackson sure like little boys!
and
(9) that mcdonalds hot coffee sure is hot!
and finally
(10) the oj simpson sure is a bastard!

but one of my favorite things about conan is when he does jay leno impressions. so, jay leno is at least good for something!

His latest is Billy Joel - "He really likes to drive cars into houses!"

I never understood the giggling sidekick thing though. Every show, Kevin Eubanks will start laughing hysterically and it just annoys me. Plus, it's always surrounding a joke about pot or porn. He's only got one fucking guitar riff too - it's the "prepare for the badumm-tsss!" riff, you'll know it when you hear it.

I've always liked Paul Schaffer...yeah, he's the sidekick and all of that, but he has more of a personality to him than Eubanks does--yr right, all Eubanks does is that deep belly laugh 'oh, jay, you're so silly!'

The King of the Jungle guy came on last night and brought some wild animals..now that was pretty funny, Letterman was scared shitless because I guess a dog bit him on one on the nights (!?)

Whyn't nobody post about why they like Leno? I mean the fucker makes my stomach crawl with hatred and bile and he sorta falls under the Letterman Top 10 category of "Things you'd like to pound and pound with a shovel." Personally I think Conan crushes these fools, by Crom, but If I had to pick, it sure a shit wouldn't be that simp, Leno.

Why you likey Leno?

Yes, 2 votes for that tool Leno and no explanations. Speak up, people! Defend your choice! Otherwise, we run out of things to talk about!

Bill Hicks had a great routine about Jay Leno that makes me chuckle every time I think about it.

That's some funny shit, and I agree, but I had to go with Letterman. Paul really adds to the free-form of the show, even when the jokes fall flat.

There's also the interview with Joey Lawrence which ends with Jay Leno shooting himself in the mouth with an Uzi. Funny stuff! Diet Coke!

In Leno's defense, well...yeah, Leno himself is very unfunny. But even though anyone with 2 eyes and literacy could do his "Headlines" skit, he does it, and they are usually pretty goddamn hilarious.

Letterman sucks in every way. His jokes suck, his top 10 is awful, his interviews are boring and out of his control... but Norm McDonald did a killer impression of him, and summed him up pretty well.

I get a good chuckle out of a good Paul Schaffer impression, though.

My opinion: Letterman and Leno are both equally crappy.

Sidenote: Has anyone seen the movie that Leno co-stars with Pat Morita?
I think that its called "Collision Course" and it is fucking golden!

Didn't he also do that show "Night Gallery"?
I remember this one episode where this long-hair biker gang guy dies and goes to hell. They show this montage of all these old paintings of hell, etc. The guy gets there and there are these nice, boring, square people there.
He asks them "I thought I was going to hell! Where are the dogs? Where are the chains, man?" and they tell him "Oh, there's nothing like that here, but you're in the right place." or something like that. And the skit ends with these square people closing in on him and talking to him and he's freaking out and screaming "No! " because his hell is full of squares. I saw that when I was a little kid and remember thinking it was pretty funny. I wonder if he wrote that?

Leno isn't very funny to me. Letterman I used to find funny but I don't watch his show now. Better than Leno, though. Conan is funniest of the late night TV hosts.

Looks like Rod Serling to me -- host of the Twilight Zone.

Yep, sure enough

Jimmy Kimmel can be ok, too- he usually has good guests..

In a somewhat unrelated topic, has anyone seen Bob Costas' show? He had Liz Phair on, and seeing him talk about 'indie rock' and all of that was pretty surreal.

From today's Onion, I thought it was quite appropriate:

Leno's Voicemail Message Pauses For Laughter
LOS ANGELES—Tonight Show host Jay Leno's home outgoing voicemail message stops briefly to allow for audience laughter, sources reported Monday. "You have reached the home of Mavis and Jay Leno, and if you don't know what to do by now, then you've got bigger problems than Martha Stewart,'" said Leno's recording, followed by a five-second silence. "But seriously, callers, at the beep, leave a message." After a short pause, Leno's message concluded, "Am I right?"
