I've been into Black Sabb as of late for some reason, and dig on Paranoid as much as the next person, but without a doubt The Stooges and Fun House are the winner here by a couple country miles. If we're talking the Complete Fun House Sessions then it's a winner by several leagues.

Funhouse > Paranoid.

But... Volume 4 > Funhouse.

Easy. Stooges/Funhouse. Much as I love Black Sabbath - and I do love them very much, I think the first album is very underrated - they never hit me in the gut like Iggy, Ron and Co. did.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

Fun House, easily. There are very few albums I would take over Fun House.

Though, as was mentioned before, I just may prefer Paranoid over The Stooges.

I don't even enjoy all of Paranoid. Maybe someday I will.

Funhouse, of course.

I listen to Sabbath way more but even I know Funhouse is a better record.
Sabbath is not a one album kind of band where you can pull one out of the mix and single it out. It's like a giant robot. Paranoid is just the arms. You need the rest to complete the picture.

For me, Paranoid wins, no question about it. Funhouse is great, but nowhere near the quality of paranoid.

I have saved this article, since the author seems to be the only person who shares a similar viewpoint. Luckily, I did not spend money on it & happily deleted the mp3 files less than midway into the torture session. I am happy with my 1990 shitty sounding CD, joyous about my absolutely great sounding rhino remaster & the vinyl copy. Thank You.

Well, call me a sucker/completeist. I also have the Pet Sounds box with all the out-takes, acapella tracks, etc. and while that's only 4 discs, I would gladly listen to more of the takes if they were available.

I do get a chuckle out of that article, he does make some valid points, but I can't agree with all of them.

I have never thought of Funhouse as my favorite Stooges album, even though that is sacrilege around here. Paranoid is not my favorite Sabbath album but I think I would choose it over Funhouse.

Paranoid just has better songs. Deep down you know it, too.
