I watched this last night - really funny. Loved it.

Show's site is here.

I think this is some of the best TV I've seen in a long time.

It was great. Did you catch the second episode as well? I didn't realize they were gonna show two.
Way way better than Lucky Louie. It's gonna be a great series. The guy is just the best there is today. Top of his game. Not fucking crap, no way.

Hilarious

Also of note, that was the most depressing comedy pilot I've ever seen. the part at the end with the pile of dead dogs. That had to be a Messy divorce he went through. I foresee his ex taking quite the thrashing during this show.

I got spoiled by the second one. At that point, I wished I had a DVD of the whole season so I could stay up all night watching it.

I am just now hearing about this show. Can't wait to watch it.

I too even liked Pootie Tang, and Lucky Louie.

Based on the first two episodes I would say this show is likely going to be really great. I thought both were good/funny, some parts that didn't really work, but obv the show is still finding its footing. Much better already then "Lucky Louie" that I enjoyed but was also kind of disappointed with.

Dudes, the first ten minutes of the second episode, when they were sitting around playing cards, that might have been some the best tv I've seen in like, a really long time.

I really enjoyed both episodes. I thought the humor was a successful mix of absurd and cringe-worthy. The date he went on was excruciating.

Way into Louis CK.

Thought the show was really promising. I saw him perform last fall and he did most of the routines he did on the show. Great material.

Loved it when he was out on a date.

I hope we'll get some Rick Shapiro on the show soon.

Huge Louie C.K. fan.

Just watched both episodes and I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. I prefer Lucky Louie because at least he didn't have to censor much. The first 2 episodes of Louie were extremely watered down bits from his act.

I'll keep watching until they cancel it (I give it 8 episodes, tops.)

That stand up bit at the end of the second episode was great were he was talking about it only taking him two minutes to decide to fuck a monkey the second he realized everyone dissapeared off the face of the Earth.

That intro with them playing cards and talking shit to each other was great too.

Mannn... just dumped the cable.

I was hoping I'd read bad reviews of this show so I wouldn't regret that decision.

Just watched the pilot and thought it was great. I think it's much better than his HBO sitcom, this one at least has some production value. Anyone catch the Reggie Watts credit for the original music?

The concepts that he's trying to accomplish with this show are quite visionary, but the execution needs work. There are plenty of belly laughs, but the dead spots are obvious as well.

I really don't see this show catching fire right away like 'Always Sunny'. It's going to really need a lot of critical acclaim to keep it alive similar to the first 2 seasons of 'Breaking Bad'. If this show hits its stride before FX cancels it, it has the potential to be something special. I'm not optimistic about it, but I'm glad he's at least getting another chance.

I really don't think so, but I could be wrong. Based on his last 3 comedy hours, you can notice a pattern of him always having respect for his ex-wife. The primary punchline in his marital humor was the tragedy of how thoroughly they had fallen out of love with each other. Doing so, he was able to do hilariously scathing bits about marriage (ie: the most pathetic moment in the history of sex) while avoiding the traps of chauvinism and mysogony. 'Shameless' is a work of modern art because of this coupled with its sheer inhibition and fearlessness.

It's too early for me to tell. The structure of the show struck me as a bit awkward, though there was lots of great writing. There's a dark melancholy undercurrent to the show that I think could be used to very interesting effect. I love the idea of buying a puppy as akin to a "countdown to sorrow." And ending that whole bit with "so anyway, that's why it's hard to start dating" is an example of what a gifted comedian he is.

I really do want to like it. I think I'm one of ten people in the world who thought "Lucky Louie" was great. The one about the argument that began with him buying his wife roses sticks out in my mind as being particularly memorable.

This is at least the third show he's tried to get on TV. Some years back he apparently taped a pilot for a network sitcom called "St. Louie."

Right.

The narrative portions could be 15 minutes of straight shit (they aren't), but if it includes those 3-5 minutes of stand-up, I'm still going to watch every single one.
