Italian food vs. Mexican food

Postby Johnny 13 on Fri Oct 08, 2010 1:44 pm

As always, there can be only one. The loser's food will cease to exit, and we will imagine they eat some sort of savory waffles that everyone would agree are not as good as the foodstuff that they are replacing. Also, the memory of the absent food would be gone, and never in a million years would someone accidentally stumble into making the sorts of things that are gone.

I'd rather live in a world without zinc than have to choose between the two. You're killing me.

Most of these comments make no sense, like they were translated into Mexican, then Italian, then back into English.

EDIT I just said "translated into Mexican." Fuck it, I'm leaving it.

Cafe Privata. I was just thinking about that place the other week. the food there was decent, yeah. a bit too spiced sometimes, but the black bean pesto was actually pretty great.

Had pesto at a restaurant in or near Genoa and nearly shot my manicotti at the table and cried in fake Italian.

I love burritos, hot sauce and nachos but Italian.

There is a place in Sausalito that fuses Indian and Mexican. It is the most absolutely fucking delicious food I've ever eaten.

I'd get tired of eating Italian every day for a few days. Mexican, not the case.

Italian food. It's what I love.

Mexican food is great, obviously, and I wouldn't want to get rid of it ever, but it's just Italian food for me.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

So, it's ok to mix the races, just not the races' sauces?

I've never left a fusion place without thinking it was weird to the buds.

On a serious note. I have not. How is it? I can tell you that Mehican food in Zagreb is really, really great.

I once ate Mexican food in Prague, and while it was good, it tasted nothing like Mexican. The Indian food there tasted like Indian, the Chinese like Chinese, the Thai sort of like Thai, but the Mexican wasn't particularly close.

As far as the subject at hand, I'd keep Italian, but just barely. The loss of salsa and guacamole would be the hardest. I've also never had Italian as good as the Mexican at Frontera Grill/Toplobampo.
