Thai wins because of the soup factor.

funny, I'm actually headed to Hema's on Devon in 5 minutes! I don't think I could give up any type of food. I never need to go to another chicago steakhouse for as long as I live though.

Thai's great but Indian is much more versatile. That's a whole goddamn subcontinent we're talking about.

To cook - Thai. So easy, so quick, so instantly gratifying. Get some birdseye chilis, some galangal, some fish sauce, some palm sugar, fresh coriander, some lemongrass, some kaffir lime leaves, some lime juice and BAM - instant deliciousness. Coconut milk optional depending on masculinity levels.

To eat - not so clear cut. I'd go with Indian, though it's a decision tighter than a nun's chuff.

Since I've only recently come back to Thai food after not liking it at all when I was younger, but having loved about 90% of the Indian I've ever eaten, I have to say Thai goes bye. I'd probably even say Indian if I could only eat the breads.

Easy. Indian is the winner, by far. The flavors, to me, are much more complex.

Chinese would defeat Thai for me as well.

I couldn't vote in the other poll, as there is no way I could give up either Mexican or Italian food. Indian is right up there with those as well, so I won't be voting in your next food thunderdome.

The most delicious Indian food I've eaten was actually Bangladeshi food. The place it came from, a little hole in the wall named Anarkali, closed and I can't get anything quite like it anymore.

That tops, in my memory, the most delicious Thai food I've eaten.

However, Thai seems to be less fattening than Indian curries. This may be an illusion.

Also, the sensations with Thai food can be more surprising than Indian, which I've kind of gotten used to. I once was given a free bowl of soup to try at a Thai restaurant. It looked and smelled like day-old dirty dishwater, and putting a spoonful in my mouth, it started to taste like it. Then a half second later, an explosion of deliciousness. I think it had to do with coconut milk. That was interesting.

So, Thai, but tough choice.

Alas, both of them can give me indigestion these days, but that doesn't stop me.

Thai.

I haven't eaten Indian food as much as I should have, but I frequent the local Thai restaurant here and it's easily some of the best food I have ever eaten.

If you are ever in Dayton, go to Thai 9. Fucking go to it and eat like a king.

Indian food is so much better than Thai, but Thai food can be great right?

There's plenty of Thai food I haven't tried, but what I've had is monotonous and keeps me away from the restaurants. Ginger, lemongrass, coconut milk, repeat. I taste the same flavors in all Thai food, and they're not even that great in the first place. Also, why do they shred mushrooms? That's the worst way of using mushrooms, ever.

Indian food, although often texturally deficient, is great. Flavor-wise, it's the best cuisine I've tried.
