I have become completely obsessed with this band. It's literally all I've been listening to lately. I'm no wussy puss, but this music has actually brought me to tears on a few occasions. It's genius and beautiful and weird and I love it.
Their new record coming out soon is amazing, and I never use that word.
The live stuff I've found from them just blows me away...they never seem to play a song the same way twice...I'll get halfway thru a song before I realize it's a strange version of something off the record...
I just found a version of Damien Jurado's 'Ohio' they recorded and it's just a wonderful piece of music all around. I hope noone overlooks this band as New York girl folk bullshit without really giving it a chance, I didn't think much of the first record at first either...then it just kinda hit me after a few times of listening to it....and man, it has really hit me since...

CocoRosie are amazing and insanely talented. One of my favorite contemporary artists.
Not even slightly crap on a bad day.

I'd say it's the most unlistenable album Touch and Go has ever released. It's pure audio hell.

I do listen to it once every five months or so, wondering how on earth something could sound so horrible. I have to admit that I find it somewhat intriguing, even though I really dislike them. Their new album on the horizon has me dreading what's next.

The new record is really good, trust me...seek out the title track and I dare you not to like it.

I love Cocorosie so very much. All their songs sound like they are lonely for me, and love me very much. I love them too. I want us all to draw mustaches on each other while we insult the Beatles.

My only experience with CocoRosie was seeing them live two years ago. I was drunk, but I sort of remember liking it. I always consider picking it up at ye olde record store but always find something better....

Utter pretentious crap. They can't write songs, and they are obviously uninterested in songcraft. Kinda like Cat Power, except at least she is trying.

Last time I saw Chan play she banged her head on the piano for 10 minutes straight. That's hardly 'trying'

I should have qualified my statement by saying Chan is at least trying on RECORD. She has a sense of songcraft, if naive. But live? Jesus...

Strangely, I saw her play once and it was fantastic. She played in the dark with a silent movie playing on a big screen. Just a great show.
When it's just her on stage it's always horrible.
Once, I saw her get thru half of one song then start crying and run off. End of show.
