ATP Nightmare before Christmas

Postby Sebastian J. on Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:19 pm

So since the tickets are sold out, is there any chance to get them at the door for example? Is there scalping usually at those kinds of festival?

It is organised very well against touts (scalpers) so getting yourself a ticket can be a problem if you haven't booked a chalet through the legitimate routes. However, being a member of the PRF can have its perks. There are usually a fair few EAers with a space going spare for whatever reason. In fact, my bestest friends very well might have a spare space in their 6 beth chalet (which i'm sure they would be happy to let you have for face value). I sadly cannot go as i will be having a crazy surfrider adventure in the land of the rising sun, but i will be around these e-parts still to help out in any way i can if you need me.
You're a shit DM and i want my pizza money back.

There's invariably a lot of tickets moving around at ATP. If you nose around and post on the various British alterna-music forums - ATP itself, Drowned In Sound, Pitchfork, Plan B etc. - and say what you are looking for, and make it clear that you a nice guy with social skills (because you will be sharing a chalet with some people), you will almost certainly be able to get a ticket.

They only usually give two keys out for a four person chalet - you can get more keys cut at the reception desk for £1 each. Make sure you get your own key.

See you there!

Anybody else going to this this year?

If anybody is driving from London on Friday morning-ish and has a spare seat in their car there and back, I will give them forty quid in crisp notes for petrol. PM.

I shall be attending the 10 years of ATp shindy and driving from Cardiff. So absolutely no use to you Mr. Shape, unfortunately. Although I am quite excited about it. Unless I end up killing the people I'm supposed to go with.

Is there any change of just like .. one day/one night tickets? I guess its too late now anyways. I can't find anyone to go with. They all turned up their noses at the price.
If anyone is interested going to ATP @ Minehead in December, let me know. BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO GO.

I know! I had tickets to the Pavement one because this one was apparently sold out. Though apparently that's not quite the case...

Well..if you mean the Pavement ATP, then yes. Me and my friend might be in need of another two people...

...but I'd probably have to let you know in, like, May. So keep your calendar open!

Yup, let's hope they announce some good bands. If May comes along, and you haven't heard anything about it from me, be sure to personal message me or whatever.

Yeah right. At Minehead in December, Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Shellac, etc are playing. The cheap tickets sound out straight away. :(
Where's it going to be in May then?

Trusty old Minehead, again. I haven't been there since I was about five. All I remember is crying in some pub while there was a karaoke competition being held on stage. Literally, that's all I can remember. I hope this doesn't happen again if Pavement choose crappy bands.

Its a nice little place. Full of Northern Chavs alot of the time. They all go down there for their holidays, haha. I went there one Summer a couple of years ago with my family and it was so packed. I don't think I've ever been to Butlins though.
Yeah, lets hope it is as good as this year's line-up. Maybe Shellac will play there again too!

Aww, you cried at Butlins? Thats so cute. :)

Northern chavs go on holidays? Then what the hell have they been complaining about all this time?

And yes, I cried at Butlins. I was never a holiday sort of kid, apart from Christmas and Birthdays, of course. Didn't even like Halloween. I shall now watch my rating goes from "kukla" back down to whatever the first rating is (newbie?) for admitting I cried at Butlins.
