They're playing Bizarro in its entirety for every show on this tour, I understand.

The 400 Bar show tonight might sell out, so get there in a timely fashion if you plan to buy tickets at the door.

Y'all missed OUT. Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco: for you there is still time, still hope.

Did they play any non-Bizarro material after they finished playing the album?

Nope. They played a few new songs (excellent!), and then it was on with Bizarro. I didn't get any "Dalliance" (sadface!) but by the end I didn't mind a bit.

Buy Terry de Castro's solo album, A Casa Verde. I haven't heard it yet but it cannot fail to be good. She rocked that Fender Precision bass last night like a god.

(You must purchase A Casa Verde through Amazon. Terry asked Gedge to make sure some were brought on the tour to sell at their merch table. He said "Oh, yes." He brought seven copies. Tsk, David.)

This might be a better question for the Tech Forum, but I'll try it first here... I have listened to those WP records for many years, but finally saw the WP live for the first time ever in Chicago last weekend... Their set was mostly drawn from "Bizarro" but they threw in a few other songs from other releases... Part of me has always been curious as to how that haunting first song on SeaMonsters ("Dalliance") sounds live to see if that mid-song volume increase is studio trickery, or if it's the band just all turning up to "11" at the same time... They didn't play Dalliance at the Chicago show, so I wasn't able to solve the mystery... Anyone know the (probably easy!) explanation?

Here's a live rendition of "Dalliance" from 2009.

You could also ask David Gedge or Terry de Castro!

I saw them in Atlanta a couple fo years back and the whole show was kind of quiet. They played Dalliance (yes, this song is incredible) and there was no audible push in the live version. I was disappointed. The whole show was very tame.

I don't think so. That album and "Dalliance" especially are pretty dynamic. If the first 3 minutes of the song had been brought up to the level of the rest, you probably wouldn't hear the kind of impact that comes when the storm hits. I think it's just an accurate recording of a part that's actually quiet.

I've seen them perform it live with the same effect and there was no turning of knobs at the break. By the way, I was also lucky to see them play "Falling" once, which was mindblowing for similar reasons.

Given that the guy who recorded it is here maybe you'll get a real answer.

I just assumed that there was some kind of stomp box involved.

They're touring Britain in November. Any Bri'ish PRF fans might wanna use it as a nice base of meeting up and having top laughs or summink.

Just a suggestion.

The Saturday in Bristol would be good lads, but I'm easy if just the Welsh want to go to Cardiff.

A very good hyperactive pop band.

I am especially partial to the singles from the Peter Solowka years.

Although I don't like the Wedding Present as much as the infinitely noisier Dustdevils, w/whom there is some personnel overlap.

Oh look, they're in Manchester on 10th Dec, I could make that one instead and I wouldn't have to be touched up by Rhod.

You mean feel all of me?
