Welding Cable xlr GEFELL MV692

Postby melvins111 on Fri Apr 27, 2012 2:41 am

Hello all.
I just got a microphone geffel mv692.
I have and its transformer connectors.
However, I miss a NS104 via XLR cable.
With it, how to proceed with welding?

Thank you for your help

hello,

I can not test the microphone if I did not connect a cable xlr.

Or find plans (schematics) for welding this one.

thank you again

I'm a little unsure what you're asking, but I assume you are trying to build an adaptor to connect the original connector to a standard XLR. I googled "Gefell MV692 Schematic" and found this page. Both sets of schematics are there. It looks like you will have to do more than make an adaptor cable. There might be additional internal modifications. I recommend contacting Gefell directly to get the proper upgrade. They still support this mic.
Good luck,
Greg

Agreed. I had my 692 48 volted/XLRed by MTG a few years ago, couldn't be happier.
Don't shun it. Fun it.

ok

Merci a tous

OK, so melvins111 has a MV692 with a power supply. He has the cable to connect the mic to the power supply and he is looking for a wiring diagram to make a cable from the power supply to an XLR connector. In order to do that, he has already bought a 7-pin connector that connects to the power supply.

Here are two things that I found online:
N692 manual
48V adapter wiring diagram (look at the very bottom of the page)

Greg Norman recommends that you contact Microtech Geffel directly so they can explain to you how to do that. Any help is appreciated!

PS: si tu as du mal à comprendre ma réponse en anglais tu peux m'envoyer un message perso en francais, à plus!

Actually,
Gregoire is acting as my avatar in this case. In a way, I am occupying him like the Nazis.
I should add, that the 48v mod is not the ideal way to go about using this mic. It will make sound, but probably have less current to work with than spec'ed for "T phantom" (which, only glancing I think it is). If he wants to use it with 48v phantom power, he should have Gefell mod the mic for him. Otherwise, he needs to find out which of the several output wiring schematics is right for him. So we need a German avatar now...

Ok, so I had emailed Microtech Gefell about that a few weeks ago, and they responded today with the solution. Here is the drawing you need:
