Dunno, if it's 'actually good' but I have a few 12" releases out at the moment that might fit the bill:
One
Two (There's a link to the 12" version)

"Ra" was done on analogue gear and the masters were just recorded straight into the computer. Wish I could afford doing proper tape master recordings instead, but there is neither cash nor space for that right now.

Also playing some music for Rephlex Records' 21st Birthday at Bangface in Cornwall in September. For those that don't know, Rephlex is run by Richard D. James and Grant Wilson-Claridge. Nice guys.

Hey, that stuff's pretty good. Very Warp-y/Squarepusher-y. That reminds me, anyone seen Squarepusher's new show? It's insane. And really good.

Thanks! I wanna see the Squarepusher show, I think that album fits better to a 'show' type setting. Not sure I enjoy the compression he's using on it, at least not for home listening.

OHMYFUCKINGGOD

Sam, that Etienne de Crecy song is ruling my shit right now. It reminds me of tracks that Harthouse used to to release. It is evil.

Yeah, that track totally kills it. I love the part at the end with the chubby hispanic dude dancing in a school. Cracks my shit up every time.

Digging the Holy Other. That buried house beat reminds me a bit of Gas.

That is some serious funky house shit happening in the coda. Very minimal.

That link started me reminiscing about the Harthouse label, who, in the early-to-mid 90's were unfuckwithable. They released crazy, dark and funky tech-house. Just youtube "harthouse" and click on anything.

While going down that trip I ran across a duo called The Advent and Industrialyzer. I'm pretty sure they weren't on Harthouse, but their tracks are comparable. "High Octane" sounds like what I imagine a criminally insane duo would sound like if they got a hold of DJ production tools: weird, punishing, and dark. Like, real fucking dark. It's great. I hope the link works:

I've just been completely surprised by Shackleton's new one Music For The Quiet Hour. I have always known he was good, but this is just a fucking striking album. It's not exactly dance, though it has some of its elements, and is created by someone who is known to make people do it.

Man, this track is two-years-old (which is a lifetime in terms of house tracks) and it still sounds fresh, at least to these ears. I've never listened to Afrojack before and I'm glad I heard this before discovering his most recent remix work with the pop elite. This is phenomenal house music. It tickles the ears and forces limbs to wobble on their own accord. Dirty. Can't be played anything but loud, and the last two minutes or so jack-heaven. Classic and current at the same time. So great.
