Anybody want to trade their EGC with single coils for my EGC standard with humbuckers?

Out of curiosity would you sell it outright? If so, for how much?

You could always send it to Kevin and have him set it up split coil style. That's how my Standard is set up. When the coils are split, my humbuckers are way cleaner than the EGC single coils. Those pickups are more like P90's imo and break up almost as quick as HB's. If clean is what you're after, coil splitting is the ticket.

That's a good idea, man! I got a Telecaster and the EGC has literally set in a corner since then. I forgot how much I missed pickups that didn't grind so much.

I wonder if anybody could set up that guitar with a coil tap?

This is a great idea & one that I've considered. I think any luthier could probably figure out how to do the coil tap, but I would pester Kevin a bit more & have him do it if poss (or have him give instructions to the luthier, tell you what kind of capacitor/inductor/push-pull pot he uses, blahblahblah). He does the coil tap on a lotta of the EGC humbucker models, so I'd want to at least see how goes about it, even if he's not gonna do it.

Really digging the Tyranny. Neck seems a smidge thicker than the weirdo SG neck refit I used to own, or the early blue anodize EGC standard I borrowed from FM Chromodynamic for a bit. Maybe it's the 12" radius? Also much better balance than either of those.

Agreed. That's how mine are and I almost never use the straight humbucker unless i need "super chunky dig in there heavy metal grind"
I've heard people rag on the split coil thing and never understood it. Being able to blend the neck and bridge pickups and have split coils is basically gonna give you every tone you're really ever gonna need.
I tried putting a new EGC in the bridge and It took my guitar tech a while to figure out how Kevin had it wired, heard much muttering under his breath, so it might be better to send it to Kevin if you can go without it for 2 months.
On a related note, I have a new EGC bridge pickup that i'd be will to trade for a good looper, cool delay, octave pedal, maybe EQD style tremolo, etc. :D I guess i'd sell it too. It was made like the earlier ones, so the can actually sits down on the neck rail. No dog ears to drop into les pauls.

No, can't be repaired. This guitar is now worthless. Send it to me and I'll make sure it is disposed of properly.

Looks like Kevin put up some necks on Reverb. Has anyone done the replacement neck? Is it more of a playability thing or more of a sustain?
