This is worth being in both bands' threads:

The A-side, since this is the ND topic:

Been blasting Inside the Torn Apart recently. Very strong, killer recording from Colin Richardson as ever.

I always really dug Fear, Emptiness and Despair but find it a little too bleak and monotonous to call it a favourite. Diatribes was where I left the party, too much of a conscious move into groovier territory that I never warmed to. Inside the Torn Apart has a bit more grit in the mix and I find that much more palatable - check it out if you haven't (esp 'Reflect on Conflict').

I have one of their guitars. I like it. One of the best guitars I own, had it since I was 17.

Lee Dorrian was also coincidental guest of honour at my 25th birthday celebration. We all drank a lot of steins. Totally down to earth proper gzr.

The "with the dead" project is pretty fucking good: https://youtu.be/_yN8DbTYANo

Never got into Napalm Death--am not much of a metal guy, on the whole--but I dig some Scorn tracks...

Scorn will always be magnificent. Top tier through every evolution.

Cheesy shit after their second album. Apparently they're trying to sound like some kiddie Century Media version of FIlth-era Swans now? Whatever song I heard off that last album was abysmal.

If they stopped in the 80s it would be NC, but when your discography is like 90% turd pellets I have to go with crap.

Is the new album really such a leap from the last few? They seem to be on a steady run during the 00's.

It's a slight leap from very good, to excellent. They've been rock-solid for a while, true.
