PREDICTIONS:

Holloway has so much reach on Edgar. I think he's gonna do what he did to Ortega and just punch him one million times.

Cyborg's fight is gonna be interesting. How shook is she from her last loss?

Personally I think she's gonna rip Felecia Spencer's head off and I think it is a gonna be brutal.

QUITE stoked for this card.

Holloway has spent like a week in Edmonton w his family and team sightseeing before the fight, which is charming. Must be the most likable fighter in MMA. "We always come early. You gotta checkout the grocery stores, see what time they open." Commence footage of playing around in an aerial park 5 stories off the ground in the river valley and walking up to a 2,000-pound bison at Elk Island National Park.

Max to his coaches: Don't get too close.
Also Max: I'll give you a hundred dollars if you touch it. Just touch it.

They're staying at a hotel I worked at when I was 18 and they did open workouts at the Starlight Room, which is where I grew up seeing SNFU and NoMeansNo, going to all ages shows in the early 90s when it was called The Bronx. Nirvana played there for $6.

Cyborg is a -700 favorite and I don't see how Spencer stands a chance. Likewise, Holloway is a -400 favorite. So neither fight is that interesting to me, but you never know.

I’m really underwhelmed with the card, tbh.

Normally would be rooting for Frankie to pull off an upset but it’s Max.

Thought I would link this here. Maybe some know it. Really good (the best?) weekly mma chat/analysis by two guys that sound like they post here.

Anyone watch that Ryan Hall fight a couple weeks ago? Ryan Hall might be the biggest outlier in mma — Andrew!

That unremarkable card went exactly as expected w the exception of Spencer avoiding a KO. She seems to have a chin like a cinder block.

Tons of good fights August through October.

I thought the last three fights were pretty exciting (one undercard one was solid, too--can't remember the names because there are TOO MANY PEOPLE FIGHTING IN THE UFC).

The Neal/Price fight was really good. Super wild.

Holloway is so goddamn charming in ever way. Hope he stays at 145 and just cleans house perpetually.

It's gonna be some gooooooood shit coming up!

Love that his nickname is "The Wizard." It's like he's fighting armless half the time.

Recommended watching some interviews with him. Unusual guy.

Praying that Robbie Lawler knocks Colby out tomorrow. Possibly the most just and righteous thing that could happen in the entire sport of mma.

Or Lawler could bob and weave for 25 minutes and get out struck 3-to-1 by a MAGA chud wrestler. Hard to blame people for thinking the fight was fixed.

LET'S GET THOSE PREDICTIONS ROLLING!!!!!

DC wins by decision.

Diaz gets bloodier than any human possible and then chokes out Pettis.

Romera and Costa are kinda the same fighter, aren't they?

Kinda stoked to watch Diaz fight again to be honest. Love that INCREDIBLY COMPLICATED dude.

Dustin between rounds: "I can't get this fucking guy off of me." Um, no shit? You've spent how many months training for a title fight with... um, who's that undefeated champion who has mauled every single opponent against the cage in exactly the same way 27 fights in a row?

I loved the shirt swap after the fight. Gotta be the first time that's ever happened. Unfortunate that Team Khabib is so tight w evil fuckers like this though.

Where would you actually start in being a fan of the UFC and separating it from anything even remotely political?

THAT SAID, that dude is particularly egregious and fucking gross. He was there, too. They never once showed him on camera, but he was ringside. Apparently sitting really close to Dana White, who later said, "I don't know who that is. Never met him."

Kinda have to shut that part of my brain off to enjoy something now and then.

Sorry, rest of the world! I've got bloodlust!

If it ever comes to pass that that Chechen piece of shit is going to be in a televised MMA match against a formidable opponent, with a high likelihood of getting his skull caved in, I trust that someone will alert me to it. I know that, in reality, this doesn't happen in MMA. But one can hope. And I hope the microphone picks up the sound of his face breaking. And I hope it's as loud and ridiculous as when

Adesanya!!!

I'm late to this fucked up sports-entertainment but I'm so glad I got to follow this guy's rise. Put the belt over his mother's shoulder in the cage after the fight not his dad's (my partner liked that). Weirdo has a tattoo of Calvin & Hobbes riding a cardboard box on his bicep and a tattoo of his dog's face across his neck. The hype guys dancing with "Broken Native" on their forearms before his walk-in.

That fight was fantastic. He's the most entertaining thing about this...uh....sport right now. Whitaker is a beast, and it was decided pretty decisively last night. "Four years ago I was in the nosebleeds, and today I made his nose bleed."

MY MAN. I love him. I hope he never, ever moves up to fight Jones. I don't want to see that fight!

Three very good fights last night, to boot! A couple just okay ones.

I like him more as a dancer than a fighter. I thought his crew fucked up the entrance, that was otherwise great and I wish was about 3 minutes longer. Audacious.

I don’t really see him as a fighter and I don’t understand it. Like it’s just a tiny component of what he does. Like he transcends fighting.

I find his ego/conceit grating, but that’s also his biggest asset and what makes him special.
