It was good, but not as mind-blowing as I secretly had hoped - on the ballots they handed out I gave it a 4 out of 5. Surprisingly the director was there to introduce the film, but he couldn't stick around for a Q&A afterwards. Not Crap.

Just heard an interview with the director on NPR's "Fresh Air Weekend", more excited for this movie than thought I would be.

not crap.

nice slow-burner. sam rockwell did a decent job acting with himself but that might have something to do with how they shot it. this film is tough to talk about without giving too much away. it lifts heavily from past psychological sci-fi flicks but without being cheap about it.

maybe i'm just a sucker for people doing outer space shit that isn't all about saving the world/universe from evil aliens.

I'm excited to see this.

Based on the trailer, I am seeing a lot of 2001-esque things. Seems to have that vibe to it. It's good to see a sci-fi flick come out that isn't a...

It was a good film, a nice twist on the space sci-fi genre. It did leave at least one pretty "obvious" logistical question unanswered; I was surprised they didn't address it. Perhaps they purposely left it unanswered or they deliberately left it to "chance."

Not crap. Rockwell ruled. The Clint Mansell score was nice. Spacey didn't add anything.

I saw this last night. It was good, but not great. I liked the set design a lot and the acting was very good. I was expecting more from the story, but was pleased that it didn't end up a copy of other space stories from which it occasionally borrowed minor elements.

So NOT CRAP, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.

Good but I was expecting more of a suspense/space paranoia vibe that wasn't really there. Rockwell was good. the robot didn't seem like too much of a HAL knock-off like I thought it would. It was like a helpful, nice HAL.

I enjoyed it. I expected a much different ending, but was still good.

Would watch again.

It was ok, but now knowing what it's like if I had to hypothetically unwatch it that wouldn't break my heart at all.

It had a nice atmosphere to it in the first half and once they matter-of-factly let you know what's going on that sort of goes away. I liked that atmosphere, so that was kinda a shame.

Pretty much.

It looked pretty, had good atmosphere, was engaging (the time flew) and I was glad when it started to distance itself from 2001, Solaris, etc. But then it just doesn't go anywhere. There's no depth or exploration. I'd probably rather watch Solaris again.

I saw this last night, I really liked it. It did come across as basically an amalgamation of story and visual ideas from Silent Running, Dark Star, Solaris, 2001, Alien and so on but I love all those films and thought it was plenty enjoyable in it's own right. Besides, I've spent years wishing people would still make movies that look and feel like that so I'm not about to start complaining when they do. I'm looking forward to the planned epilogue already.

NC.

Finally saw this a few days ago.

Actually, the whole thing kinda fucked with me in a good way, like the same way that the end of Dennis Lehane's Shutter Island did (that's a really disparate comparison, but it's all based in mind-fuckery).

So Not Crap.
