Fresh and joyous as the first day I heard it.

this thing holds me entranced. absolutely love it.

rest of the stuff i've heard by them didn't arouse me though. struck me as ploddy and cold. post some links that'll change my mind.

Had I seen this thread when it first started I would have had no problem at all voting CRAP. In fact, it would have been impossible for me to even consider any other sort of vote up until the tail end of 2010. I really like their soundtrack to Tron Legacy, though. I'm sure that doesn't counterbalance the rest of their long and crappy career, but part of me is wondering if they have a future as makers of more good film scores. I'll leave off voting for the opinion I am able to form in the future.

Just for the record and all, I loathe this band.

I am repeating myself, but my hatred is so strong that I needed to state it twice.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

I like the Tron soundtrack as well, even though most people have dismissed it as a disappointment: a run-of-the-mill score with very little elements, outside of one or two songs, that make it seem like Daft Punk created it at all. Since I don't listen to Daft Punk I am blissfully unaware of what people were expecting when they heard that they were doing this soundtrack.

would be nice if they hit the road more than once a decade. missing the pyramid is one of my few concert regrets.

For this sort of disco house, Metro Area is really where it's at.

Homework rips. I fucking love this album. I spent a healthy amount of this morning learning a couple of bass lines from the record. Stoked to finally own a copy.

I haven't really heard much of the newer shit. Will be checking out Discovery next.

So true. Their live show, marketing and willingness to play the worst EDM festivals really account for their popularity. A lot of their music is good, but it's far from unique, which is strange because they are the only artist in their genre who gets attention outside the house scene. And if you like Daft Punk, you have to admit that you also enjoy 80s boogie funk and disco because that's what is being sampled and/or imitated.

I liked that song better when it was a 15-second instrumental loop. The singing is painful.
