Band: Bloodlet

Dug out Entheogen after years of it sitting on the shelf, I'm enjoying this a lot. One of the two good bands on Victory Records, the other being Deadguy, unless I'm forgetting someone. I didn't think much of the comeback record, though.

I'm pretty sure they had some very retarded genre tag attached to them, "hatecore", maybe?

Just found out Entheogen was reissued on 2x45 rpm vinyl (would love to get that), dug it out again, still like it a lot. I'd have a hard time coming up with a list of ten hardcore records from the 90's that I enjoy, this one is more like "hardcore-related", but it'd make the cut.

"The Seraphim Fall" is one of the best heavy records I have heard in my life, period. One of the top 3 metalcore/post-metal/math/doom/polka/ragga whatever you want to call it records, that's for sure. It does the whole, screwy time signature, vocals that sound like a downed TIE Fighter thing while being atmospheric/oddly eerie and slow and HEAVY as fuck and having effective acoustic interludes to boot. Proof:

I kinda like this record, is what I'm saying.

Found that one hard to get into due to the production, will insist.

Guilt.

I haven't thought about Bloodlet in almost 20 years. Never got too into them, though the singer in my first band really dug them, along with Deadguy.

Will check them out, never heard of them. Snapcase is definitely not for me, though.

They were really influential to me when I first got into the Louisville music scene. I can't say I listen to them nearly as much these days, but it's still pretty good overall. Think Fudge Tunnel meets Rodan.
