Like the best death metal bands, they see dissonance, technicality, etc. as a means to an emotional end. Atmosphere, not "brutality".

They really don't have a single bad album, unless you're feeling hard on Harnessing Ruin. (I usually do. It sounds like Immolation doing Bolt Thrower or something, kinda uninspired and goofily "happy" sounding.) Like a dozen great albums make up for that though.

NC, no waffles
That makes me an angry boy.

I watched a few videos of their more recent stuff.. right in my wheelhouse. not to dorky or over the top, just heavy/complex riffage done well. AND the frontman looks like Nathan Explosion. come to think of it, Nathan Explosion probably looks like that guy.

I only know two of their records, which I enjoy. NC.

Nowhere near crap.. One of the few death metal bands Ive been listening too since 1991 or so where I still look forward to their new albums.. From the get go with Dawn of Possession they were always different from the rest and theyve managed to stay that way this entire time. Also one of those 'classics' like Obituary and Malevolent Creation I can never seem to see play live dammit!!

Missed the chance of seeing them live recently. Regretted it.
