Yeah, anyone who voted crap in this thread should be shot with a speargun as his/her naked ass attempts to spawn in the river of shit that is their opinion on music.

NOT CRAP. No waffles, only P-Funk Pancakes for breakfast...

You've got P-Funk, the real thing, and then you've got fucking Prince.

These two should not even be mentioned in the same sentence.

I needed to bump this after the uninformed opinions expressed in the overrated guitarists thread.

Not Crap. Never Ever.

Maggot Brain is an essential album for anyone to own and appreciate.

As are Standing on the Verge of Getting It On, Osmium, and America Eats Its Young.

Somebody once referred to P-Funk as "Black Zappath." That's pretty good.

I put on "Let's take it to the Stage" last weekend, sat outside in the sun with some beers. Very nice.

There is some good shit-talking on that one. Good record to help with one's Internet-sniping chops. Not that Mr. zom needs any help, certainly.

P-Funk remains the greatest concert I have ever seen.

Three and a half hours of pure nirvana.

My ears were really fucked. They play pretty loud.

Blackbyrd McKnight shredding the fuck out on about 15 minutes of Maggot Brain...and George's intro was great too. Gary Shider was in a cloth diaper with gray dreads.

Even the three hours in the wee small hours I spent lost on the Barcelona bus system was a paltry price to pay for seeing such brilliance.

Even the new stuff they played was great!

They started with "One Nation Under A Groove."

A resounding, intergalactic NOT CRAP.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

When they played at U of Chicago a year ago it started raining as soon as Maggot Brain started, and stopped as soon as Maggot Brain ended.

I saw Les Claypool & the [Frogs] at New Year's 2004, they played the original Maggot Brain at the stroke of midnight. I think Les played along too at some point.

in the next month or two we have Parliament Funkadelic, neil hamburger, mission of burma, high on fire w/ mono, and comedians of comedy (if you don't mind driving up to boston) playing here...

being that i'm broke as fuck, i'm considering ditching parliament because i've already seen them twice. but i don't know if i can.

especially if they do maggot brain again.

fuck.

I nominate for best summer music: Sly Stone's Fresh and Exile on Main Street, as well as some hand-selected, prime-quality Funkadelic.

America Eats Its Young.

Miss Lucifer's Love is the ubersong.

Damn...America Eats Its Young is one of the reputed Funkadelic classics that I don't have. I should really get that soon. Is it as good as the cover?
