Yeah, it really was.

All the members were at Supernormal the next year- Wharves and Shitwife were playing. I tried to get Stef to play an impromptu gig.
'I haven't got my guitar'
'I'll borrow someone else's and kick it around outside for a bit. That'll do won't it?'

I am nothing if not a bellend.

The issue is that he loss part of one of his fretting fingers in a motocrosser crash. I think he said he can't play much of the SYE stuff, so I hope he carries on writing new material.

I just remembered that there's a reference to the band Lords in the liner notes on one of the earlier albums. I'll need to fish it out to quote it. I thought it was a nice touch.

A few other thoughts about seeing this band:

A few times when watching them, I really got the sense that it was almost like we were watching some sort of incredible, magical feat. People's faces looked they couldn't believe what they were seeing. Just blown away.

Baby You Made a KX250 Out Of Me is a superb song title.

I can remember they played possibly Too Little Has Been Good For The Soul and everyone near the front of the crowd put their arms over each other's shoulders in a big group and generally going nuts. Rarely see people so ecstatic about a band like that.

Hey thanks for the heads up on this band, PRF. Been listening to the two albums that are available on Google Play Music, super into them. Can totally tell that this band would have been a motherfucker live even without watching the live videos. Not Crap!
I play guitar in Mayor For Life and Jackhammer Hearts

I was at this show... Stef is originally from our (v.small) scene and played in some great bands as a kid.
Havent seen him for a couple of years now actually, I think he's moved to Brighton.

I had the pleasure of playing bass for him on a solo gig once with about a minute to prep and before every song he'd play the first note into the tuner pedal so I could see it and we'd go from there. Loved it. Love him as well, and SYE.

I couldn’t remember the name of that English band with the crazy tremolo guitar and managed to find it with a careful googling of this post. What’s this guy up to now?

Playing solo (Stef Ketteringham) and as part of the band Reciprocate which is an update of SYE with the same drummer.

http://www.stefketteringham.com/

Had the pleasure of staying with Stef this weekend and he's a musical mentalist of the best type. Investigate!
