I dug up some old CD's recently with 'Sonic Nurse' being among them. I was almost surprised by how much I enjoyed listening to it!

"Pattern Recognition" is one of their best songs out of the later era. It's like they injected "Cross The Breeze" into "Silver Rocket."

Been on a real SY kick recently, particularly Bad Moon Rising and Sister.

Also, the live album Smart Bar - Chicago (Live 1985) (which is incorrectly dated as 1995 on Spotify) is so good. Everything is a bit faster and intense. I would have loved to see them around that era.

This is also good.

I love both of those. That would have been a great period to see. I saw Kim’s Ovation hanging on the wall at the met a couple days ago.

I had Thurston on my radio show yesterday. He's in Milwaukee to perform the live soundtrack to James Nares' film Street tonight at the Oriental Theater. We talked for 45 min about this specific project, No Wave, collaboration with artists, musicians and non musicians, his upcoming album and other stuff. The interview starts at about the 1 hour 5 minute mark.

He couldn't have been nicer; super relaxed, friendly, generous with his time. It was pretty incredible to get to talk to him.

Damn. The target Bean too...

Watching that band makes me appreciate them so much as they play Sonic Youth music yet never listened to the band Sonic Youth.

Such great aggressive guitar playing.

That's pretty great.

wf: he changes the line "very I'm in a band ... with knee pads". That's my favorite line in the song.
