100%. Habits are hard to break. I mean, If I fly abroad I might go without a cigarette for 15 hours or more. At that point it's no longer physical, it's 100% mental. Shit's hard. Good on ya.

It takes approx 6-18 months for the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor population to re-adjust after discontinuation of nicotine, a process which has been demonstrated by scanning the receptor uptake of radionuclide-tagged ACh in nicotine addicts during cessation of nicotine consumption.

Weed. I wasn't a regular smoker anyway, but about 10 years I realized I don't really enjoy I how it makes me feel so what's the point? I try to make up for it with alcohol intake.

I wish I could say "being a fat bastard" but nope, not even close.

Quit Facebook almost 2 years ago.

Abandoned Twitter when the Mueller Report found no one guilty.

Have too many records and shouldn’t buy any more, as I am already burdening those who survive me. But had to have the Destroy Babylon 12”. And the Noise Not Music box set.

Got tired of slowly becoming a middle-aged blob so I bought an Apple Watch in May and started tracking my exercise, which encouraged more exercise and soon enough I was swimming 1500 meters/day or walking or running 90 minutes/day. My belt size is down two notches.

This is the kind of positivity I like to hear. Good on you!

Me? I quit a bunch of this shit but there's always something new to replace it... I might have to give buddhism a serious go or something.

I forgot to mention the other key component for me was admitting I’m addicted. I’m a smoker, and I always will be a smoker, I just choose to no longer smoke. It’s why it has to be cold turkey. You can’t tempt yourself or have “just the one”. It’s all or nothing. I chose nothing.

Trying too hard to be social. I’m not anti-social and I’m not a grump. But I have found that many times, a simple hello and how are you will do. Other stuff too, but that’s enough for now.
