This "Liberace Is Coming" song/video is cool, and it's not even their best work:

Will be picking up that newly unearthed LP after X-mas.

I love the Oil Tasters guy's demented vocals, could make anything cool. The stuff the other guy sings is fine I guess, but I haven't heard the whole thing yet.

It's about time that record came out. The Haskels would've got way more attention if it existed in 1979. What're ya gonna do? Great old school punk, Chinese Vacation and Drop The Bomb are perfect songs. The lp does feel like a split between Richard LaValliere's songs and Jerome "Presley" Haskel's songs. Great band, I always liked Richards stuff better. When he formed the Oil Tasters they were one of my favorite local bands forever, and they let us open for them. Not Crap.

"Born To Eat Cake" is my favorite track from that unearthed Haskels album. Have listened to that LP a bunch while working on my current project. I know it's just a snapshot of sorts and was tracked quickly, but it still holds up all these years later.

Oil Tasters: Every jukebox should have their complete discography. Milwaukee's best. Am jealous of those who got to see them. Hard to beat.

That is fantastic. Always loved this band. Drumming in the last minute or so is bonkers good.

Man, I'm going through tons of tapes now and somewhere I have a recording of the Oil Tasters doing Chinese Vacation at the Starship club. I gotta find it.

In both bands, Richard's bass was so treble forward he made Chris Squire sound like James Jamerson. Sometimes he would place a tweeter horn on top of his 4 X 12.
