I get the feeling Neil isn't actually involved in the Pono thing beyond lending a name to the product.

CRAP with a very small waffle factor. I never gave half a shit about him and didn't realize anyone else did until years back when I saw everyone on this forum creaming over him. Bought Decade, listened multiple times, didnt change my experience with his music (I grew up with classic rock since childhood) so I'm still mostly neutral to his music. But for the non-music factors, that stuff has consistently shown him to be in the crap direction, other than him being all "I'm gonna do things my way" which is already basically everyone making music that I ever hear. So, CRAP.

I personally dislike or don't care about most of his "hits" and it seems like decade doesn't get to the tunes I really like until about disc six. If you have any curiosity left, give On The Beach a spin (the first track is the worst on the album though so skip it or just don't turn the album off at that point). Zuma, Tonights the Night, and Time Fades Away are good too, but I think On the Beach has the best blend of rawness and accessibility.

I probably would've burst into tears, if I'd been there. I'm not exagerating. "Thrasher" has taken on a pretty intense meening to me, since I got sick.

What a great performance.

Saw Neil Young tonight. My first time.

It was the best live show I've ever seen.

This is because the dude has a very deep catalog, and he also has a totally intact mastery of his own voice and guitars.

His voice sounded awesome tonight. Like, it sounded as good, and often better, than the recorded versions we all know from 40 years ago!

My friend and I marveled that, at the end of this absolutely awesome show (2 or more hours), NY could have re-emerged with Crazy Horse and played another 2 hours of absolute gold.

Cliff Notes: I thought Neil Young was a god. Turns out he's GOD!

Actual quote after the show: "Weird as it sounds, Neil Young might be under-rated!"

That might be overdoing it a little. I would like to hear the "direct feed" version, though.
