Really liking what I've heard of Hitchhiker so far. This version of "Powderfinger" in particular sounds fantastic, even without the twin guitars and harmony vox.

Anyone find anything cool in the NYA or have comments on the audio politics, for lack of a better term, of the platform?

The laptop's dead and I can't access it from my kindle, so I'm a tad bummed out, but it's a really cool idea.

For the time being, I've been watching this on a loop. The Horse live in '76. Blinding stuff, wonderfully sloppy and surprisingly tight at the same time, and according to the Shakey book, Poncho was fried like a mofo during the Budokan set.

"Apple not offering a top-quality (audio) tier has led lables to stop making quality products available to the masses." Oh, please...

I heard there was a hidden Tonight's the Night UK show from the Rainbow theatre in 1973. I tried to find it, and then lost interest. In June the site will begin to charge a fee, I think I have all the Neil Young music I want to listen to now anyway.

Woah. Thank you for posting this.

That performance of Stringman is really moving.

Just got tickets to Neil Young & Crazy Horse at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg Feb 3. Crazy Horse lineup includes Nils Lofgren on guitar.

Damn.

Speaking of Burton "American Woman" Cummings, he recently moved from LA to Moose Jaw.

Didn't know this secret accordion history to "Southern Man."

Damn. For a moment my wife and I toyed with flying out for it. Jealous of you and everyone I know who are able to be there.

(Townies still call it The Walker Theatre fyi...)

I want to cover this song so bad - it’s a Crazy Horse jam with slabs of synth rammed through it. Reactor is a way better record than it is generally given credit for. I bought a second unsealed copy for when the rest of the world catches up!

That song rules, and so does the Constantines' cover of it (which, alas, doesn't seem to be on the interwebs anywhere).

TBH the show would've been better w Poncho imo. Lofgren played piano on a few songs which changed things up but otherwise I would've preferred Poncho. Neil's still 100% present and into rocking out though. Good show with many of the usual Crazy Horse highlights. And he did a short solo set first which I wasn't expecting.

The opening act wasn't announced to my knowledge and it was a guy I'd never heard of named William Prince, an Indigenous singer-songwriter from Peguis First Nation, a couple hours from Winnipeg. Last time I saw NY was on his Honour the Treaties tour to support the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation's opposition to the massive tar sands oil operations in northern Alberta.

Tix were expensive and it was a very white crowd, but William Prince was well received.

You're right

Dang! That's one that I missed.

I have a lot of love for Sleeps With Angels. I wish they would do a vinyl reissue of it.

I hadn't seen this before.
