Apparently he's no Angus Jung, that's for sure.

Yeah. I mean if someone's handsome, they're handsome. Obviously looks are subjective, but to say his handsomeness is bland and forgettable? I don't even know what that means. He's got a good smile and i think that's enough to "remember him by."

Jesus. I'm a 38 year old heterosexual male defending James Franco's looks on an internet message board. Time to go for a run or something.

Brah, there's no shame in admitting you'd totally be down for a no-homo manhug with James Franco. And as long as you're on the receiving end of a friendly tug it's totally not gay.

Or maybe you and Franco could demonstrate best wrestling submission holds to each other. Equally hetero.

This cross thread pollination could get dangerous.

He kind of does this weird thing where he alternates between being egotistical and dilettante-ish with being winking and coy about his ego and dilettante-ish tendencies. Like he thinks they will cancel each other out and he will remain charming for years to come.

He seems like a nice person, I'm completely basing that off of next to nothing, but a lot of what he does seems like meta-level mugging for the camera.

He did a good bit of self-parody in This is the End, but yeah any time he tries to talk seriously about his ambitions/accomplishments he sounds like any other actor who has been convinced by the sycophants around them that they are a genius when they're just modestly intelligent. Overall I like his work and I stay away from celebrity gossip so I can mostly ignore him being a dingus. Not Crap, waffles for not giving a shit all that much.

Did the Web site where you read about this have the word "onion" anywhere in the URL?

Complex interview.

From The Daily Mail.

I think I prefer Harvey Keitel's style of method acting better.

James Franco is Crap :WF: This Is The End, Milk, and Spring Breakers.

Dude is way into one of the bands I am in, so not crap for that alone.

Also, I have friends that hang with this dude and I hear he's good people. I have never met the guy, but I have no reason to think he's a schmuck.

I gather that this dude isn't that dude from Drive but like that dude from Drive, I haven't seen anything they've done and I don't know what they look like so that seems unlikely to change any time soon.

As an aside, I definitely knew dude from Drive's name but it's gone now. Getting old is really weird but at times also sort of useful.

Wait, what? Really?!

That's a point in his favor, then.

Anyway, I really don't give a crap one way or the other about Franco. His turn of self-parody in This Is The End was fun enough, I guess... that is, when the entire movie didn't feel like an extended circle jerk. His art and writing are stupid, but a lot of people's are. He seems to have a real fondness for trying to pick up 18-year-olds, which is sketchy if common enough. Overall I guess I'm just not invested enough in current celebrity culture to bring myself to hate him or love him. He exists. Supermarket magazines write about him. The world turns.

But I'm very happy that he likes one of Anthony's bands.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

Har

“Franco is a sequel junkie in his own reality, embracing the too big to fail studio system that is his meal ticket to dilettante artistic side shows, while he glibly attacks real independent filmmakers dedicated to independent points of view,”
