Showed up on utube today, the 'Werk in 1970:

Well worth it, even if only for the audience shots.

Stoked for the Chicago show tomorrow. Is anyone else going? I can't remember the last time I was so excited to see a 3D movie...

It's not a 3-D movie really. A 3-D movie, in my experience, is mostly just annoying (save for the stuff I saw in DisneyWorld as a third grader...Muppets...Honey I Shrunk the Audience...)

What you're about to see is a G.D. multimedia art presentation. It ups the ante on what a concert can be.

Oh, I know! The "3D movie" thing is a mere joke on my part (somewhat founded in discussion with friends about the performances and such.) From what I've heard/read/seen shitty clips online of, this show is going to kick some serious ass.

Show was so great.

Only one of them.

I still can't figure how they can be that mechanical and still that funky, that superficially cold and still that relatable.

Such an awesome band.

Ralf Hutter is 67, but he gets down, man. He was basically dancing for much of The Man-Machine show. I feel like his funkiness actually increased over the course of the concert.

I saw Kraftwerk here in LA recently at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (and Oakland too, actually). But the LA concert was far superior just because of the venue. A 3-D Kraftwerk show isn't something that's too much fun to see in a standing room only room, like the Fox Theater in Oakland. But it was perfect in LA.

I knew I liked Kraftwerk and thought they'd be cool to see live-- and my expectations were exceeded. It was amazing. I've never heard any sounds like that live before, so maybe that factors in to how much I was blown away. It sounds cheesy, but it was so sonically pure that I got goosebumps. I left that concert with a much deeper appreciation of Kraftwerk.

Which Walt Disney show did you see? I was at The Man-Machine. I was similarly blown away, especially considering that I would never pay that much for a show under ordinary circumstances. That is to say, it was nice to leave a $75 concert feeling like $1,000,000.

They're doing a show at the Ryman.

This seems so incongruous and so wrong, yet so incredibly right.

So I'm going to see them in November in Stuttgart. All I need is a convertible and a pony-tail, now:
