I got a mix tape with a shitty quality copy of "Spoke" on it in 1994. It was so great. I'll see your 10 years and raise you another 15 years.

Oscillating between that and ‘where was this record 13 years ago.’ I wonder if it still holds up!

I'm assuming these are at 45RPM? Not sure how they're stretching to a double LP otherwise. Looks very nice.

The CD version is two CDs too but the vinyl version comes with a single CD of both sessions so they may have wanted to keep the sessions apart so the listener can experience them discretely.

Whatever the reason, I'm very happy these are coming out.

I seem to remember the '04 sessions being ~45-50 minutes total. Adding the earlier session and that's easily two LPs worth.

Between Brainiacs and Silkworms on vinyl- now the Shellacs, too! T & G is making off with my money, but they/I are the better for it.

Superb news. Billiard Player song from that is probably the best recorded song of all time.

Boy, 25 years huh? 25 years since that 1994 Peel session. Back then, 25 years ago was the first Led Zeppelin album. Now 25 years ago is this. 25 years is clearly shorter than it used to be.

Anyway this record looks like a nice thing to have and it will arrive in time for my birthday.

It's cute that Shellac records still come with a CD.

Peel Sessions listed as "Shellac record #16" (Dude Incredible is #14)
Where's #15?

I was wondering about this myself- as a minimalist band, maybe the silence of the past 5 years counts as #15.

Shellac record #16 is a divine piece of work. I took a few seconds to recognise all three of the men on those glowing sleeve photos, and was quite moved when I did.

Maybe because Peel Sessions is s a double album it counts as #15 and #16?

Just a guess: I read somewhere in the past few months from either Steve or Todd that they were tossing around the idea (or perhaps actually working on) of compiling a lot of their rare or early singles into a single release. Maybe that's #15.

Just speculation, though. I have no scoop.

I think Steve mentioned this compilation in his last appearance on the Kreative Kontrol podcast not long ago.

Steve personally told me the next record is their long-planned cover of Sports.
