I think I like Sleater-Kinney now. Is this what one would call "jumping on the bandwagon"? Will S-K purists sneer in derision deeming me a poseur, what with my infinite swag and dog-eared copies of Alternative Press? Waxing nostalgic for the halcyon days of Kennedy and Afrocentric hip hop.

Don't worry, Randall. After listening to that song, I dislike their music even more now, so it all balances out.

If it helps, she's a Libertarian and a Fox News Commentator.

In good news, Quasi is touring again:

She was the most irritating VJ anyway. Sure, there was Pauly Shore, but that was just a gimmick. Tabitha Soren & Kurt Loder were cool.

It's like a heel turn or something.

I'm pretty sure that, for me, this is the worst band shark-jumping moment since the first one (Metallica). Obviously they can do whatever they want and it has nothing to do w/ me, but it's hard not to feel betrayed. Especially since Janet evidently feels the same. And since their reactivation after nine years' hiatus pretty much set the bar for such things. Continuing under the same name now is some next-level self-unawareness.

NewDarkAge wrote:I feel like the lyric videos aren’t helping their case. Some crappy lyrics man.

This too. And coming from a band that's written so many scorching lyrics that have meant a hell of a lot to me over many years. Where's the "fuck you", where's the black and blue, indeed.

I would ask if anyone wants a free ticket to any of the Seattle or PDX shows, but I'd almost feel bad passing those white elephants along.

Man, fuck 2019.

Once Janet bailed and hearing another new song, I'm so glad I didn't freak out and buy tickets as soon as they went on sale. I have a feeling they're going to get cheaper and cheaper on secondary markets as this tour progresses.

Monsters. Shame on you. Tsk, and etcetera. Maybe Janet left so that she wouldn't impede their growth. Ever think of that? No, you only think of yourselves.

Maybe she left because she couldn't deal with looking at the back of Carrie's head and the front of her body while they played.

Good post-Janet interview w/ Carrie, Corin, and Annie Clark:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/31/arts ... &smtyp=cur

Confirmed that yet, that's Carrie's butt, and Corin absolutely declined to do the same thing. Sounds like Annie did way more producing than they were used to having.

Oh, and Carrie made them hire a "creative director" for this record.

Jesse Camp.

As for Lisa Montgomery, her function is currently more "Troll..." than "Commentator..."

Credit where it's due, though...

Dweezil Zappa was actually a passable VJ.

As collaborators, Brownstein and Clark — who previously dated — are deeply intertwined, with other projects in the works, both said.

When they posted that photo of them in the studio with Annie Clark, I was thinking Damn, this session has more ex-couples than Fleetwood Mac. Might as well have brought in Sam Coomes to play keyboards while they were at it.

“I’m glad that there’s this record that has her immense drumming on it,” Brownstein said.

Does it, though? If so, I haven't heard it yet. Her visible discomfort in that Fallon performance came off like, "They could replace me with a drum machine right now and no one would notice."

In Sleater-Kinney fashion, there’s also a turn toward anthemic fury: “Done with being told that this should be the end.”

You guys seem to have been distracted by the butt to the point of thinking you were looking at a front butt, when you're clearly seeing a backwards head, like she got put together by Chewbacca.

I'm really patting myself on the back here for how much the phrase "front butt" took off in this thread.

Or shall I say, patting myself on the...
