This got me to listen to the 7" records for the first time in years...

Rambler Song kind of strikes me now as a killer Neil Young Crazy Horse song from another mother. I love that song so much, but I never heard the horse in it until now. Is it there?

New one sounds fantastic. Love the "two front covers"-style jacket.

What a great version of "Il Porno Star".

You get what you pay for.

You get what you deserve.

You pay the price.

Ha ha ha.

Just kidding about all that last bit.

It's still a joy when they mention Radio 1 throughout these sessions

Does anyone know why the price for the record in the EU is at least EUR 40 (cheapest price I have seen here)?
I'm assuming EU copies are incurring extra costs from shipping from a UK production site.

In the UK it is going for GBP 30/in the states USD 30.

There is at least one Adanac Street in Canada.

Pretty sure it's for RIDING BIKES, believe it or not.

The packaging/design/layout is beautiful- not just a tribute to Peel, but also Mr. Loder and Iain Burgess. Honestly, I didn't really know who the latter two were, except for always seeing their names on Shellac records for one thing or another. Glad that it prompted me to do some digging on their role(s) and influence.

However, after hearing two different versions of 'Canada,' I can pretty safely say it's still one of my least favorite Shellac songs. Just doesn't do it for me.

I was doing a little research on old Goya guitars from the '60s, and came across this label inside an acoustic guitar.

This would be an interesting watch. I heard Shellac once performed there.

Couple of Shellac questions- there are a couple of songs ("Paco" comes to mind, for one) where it sounds like some kind of vibrato bar is being used, but I haven't seen any of the TB guitars that Steve plays as having this function.

Also curious about the feedback effect on "You Came In Me"- it's probably just the guitar coming in contact with the amp, but it sounds more designed/constructed. Spanx!

The TBs have enough give under tension that you can bend the neck and get pitch changes. That's what Steve does live for sure.

You can do it with any guitar. I do it with anything that doesn’t have a Bigsby. It’s awesome.
