I quit nicotine yesterday, started nicotine today. Seventh time is a charm though, I have a good feeling about that one tomorrow.

The hardest habits to kick for me are the ones that don't create any kind of immediate sort of noticeable detrimental effects on my day-to-day, even though I know full well they're just expensive and dumb and unhealthy. I just need one of my vape devices to explode in my face and that should be a sufficient rock bottom.

Is grog booze? If so, that and smokes.

I think 12 years for both? I'm bad at that stuff lately, remembering dates.

No longer give even one shit about anything collectible at all. Like negative interest in it. Special edition records or the like, outside of "it includes songs that are no where else" I guess. Instruments, too. Don't care about any value outside of what use I can make of it in the moment.

Let go of all of my vanity, of which there was very little. That comes with being in my 40's I think?

Quit smoking for 15 years but have been again for the last couple. I've never hoped for a better future, so I guess I can't quit that, hookers and blow too.

Sweet, sweet Swedish snus. It's been a good 4 years or so and I STILL miss it when drinking coffee/tea/beer.

I have quit hoping for better future. I just stay focused on what's good (band and family) and try to avoid eccessive hopes, I just ignore the rest.
I quit Facebook too, it was only a source of gelousy and delusions and depression for me.

i quit

watching NBA bounceball. Sky TV lost the contract which saves me from veging out to 3 hour games of reg season pedestrian tedium

watching prem league soccer. see above. oh sure, could sign up to "Dazn" streaming service for $20 a month... but I'd never bloody stop watching. Some people tell me I am still supposed to go to work.

cassette walkman. after my last one broke I switched to the dogshit tinpot thrill of mp3 player. It sucks. Still, I HAVE to get with the new hi-tech programme. People were looking at me funny on the subway when I'd take out my Sony WM FX-888 and flip the fucken tape over seeing as the aurto-reverse is always the first thing to go on these things. Yes, they were already looking at me funny, I know, get stuffed

running. it7s just too fucken boring and stupid and tiring

playing basketball. i am too goddamn old and lazy for that knee-rupturing scene

twitter I can't believe it! I quit this stupid el dopamined hive of hate. Has anyone ever done this before?

facebook yeah so what if I was only on there for 10 minutes, get stuffed. I still quit!

trying to quit:

watching NFL boofball. 3 hour games and they're all giving themselves fucken brain damage but damnit I love it

sugar. no goddamn chance here. my blood must be about 16% biscuit

buying huge boxes of records wholesale from overseas. the postage is a gouge and I just cannot afford this shit

Just Live.

Another thing I'm working on quitting is being angry all the time.

Oh Yeah I quit Facebook over a year ago, forget about it until someone/thing tries to force it like a venue that only posts its schedule of Facebook. I guess I'll miss those shows.

Quit commercial television in 2007. Do not miss being yelled at constantly. I think I'm a happier person, for the most part, since quitting TV.

Quit booze, basically, except for wine, which I consider food.

I've always thought I was pretty chaste on paper, and sure enough I've only known 3/9 of the above vices. Still charging hard, though, with two of those three!

I was never that serious a collector of CDs and records, perhaps why it was not hard to quit.

Basically, not 100%. Not for any reason, really, just don't want it. I still have half a bottle of wine a night though.

Tobacco. I was a daily smoker for about ten years, then off and on for another ten, then stopped completely. I don’t miss it at all. No tricks no patches, just cold turkey after finally convincing myself how gross and unhealthy it is. For me it was all about breaking my bad habits and developing newer healthy ones. Disassociating it from alcohol was the biggest challenge and the reason why I was off and on for so many years. That was a hard habit to break. Coffee too.

Stopped drinking alcohol in 1987.

Quit Facebook almost 2 years ago.

Abandoned Twitter when the Mueller Report found no one guilty.

Have too many records and shouldn’t buy any more, as I am already burdening those who survive me. But had to have the Destroy Babylon 12”. And the Noise Not Music box set.

Got tired of slowly becoming a middle-aged blob so I bought an Apple Watch in May and started tracking my exercise, which encouraged more exercise and soon enough I was swimming 1500 meters/day or walking or running 90 minutes/day. My belt size is down two notches.
