Crust , I fully agree. Sometimes I feel like
Doug is playing drums and Kyle is playing Shipping News.
But Doug is fantastic. I owe a large swath of my youthful enthusiasm to his playing.

When I was in my early twenties my best buddy and I were pretty obsessed with June of 44. We decided to make the 8 hour trek to see them in Madison. We stayed a night in Fond Du Lac with a random
fan( a Scientologist with a job to convert people.)
Anyway, the next night we saw them in
Madison on the UW terrace and they were just fantastic. It was my first time seeing them and they were greasy smooth. The whole night had a magical aura to it due in equal measure to their playing, the beautiful terrace and probably our general youth.
When I applied to Graduate School , Madison was on of my top picks.
Luckily, I was offered a fellowship and so that's where I landed.
Had it not been for that glorious evening , I doubt that I would've applied there. I would've never met my beautiful wife and my daughter wouldn't be here. Whenever my girls happen to be around while I play their music , I tend to remember that for at least a moment.
Thank you , June of 44.

I was maybe kinda, sorta leading the witness... but when I had Jeff on Protonic Reversal just recently it sounded like it's likely there will be other things, but likely on an "adventure based" sort of thing.

Man, he was a great guest.
Interview around 14 minutes in.

Oh also, I think I voted in this CRAP/NOT CRAP over a decade ago. When i'd just vote and not say anything. So very, very NOT CRAP!

If you haven't listened do. Never expected to hear him talk about ALL his projects.

I will admit I cried a touch when he spoke of Noble.

Such a great band... Saw them many times, but not still not enough... One of the best live band memories of my life was watching them play the song (at the time un-released) "Rivers and Plains" at the Blind Pig in Champaign... I have seldom seen an audience that captivated....

Not Crap.

I fucking totally blacked out River and Plains. I had a nice obsessive day with it . Thanks, Hulk.

I always confuse them with the fash goth band, which I guess means I haven't really listened to either of them.

Uh, WTF happened?!

Also, if anybody knows them personally, please ask them to give more than 2 wks notice for future tour dates. I'm so pissed that I'm in Cincinnati and I can't make the show tonight due to previous commitments.

What I found out via instagram DM’s.

“It was Sean’s studio in Chattanooga Tennessee that caught fire. He lost the entire studio including his telecaster & Fred’s bass. It happened while he was going to pick up Jeff from the airport.”

Just a purely joyful show all the way around. Absolutely great. They were clearly a little emotional from the week. Truly great band!

A least one European date in May (19 May 2020, Brussels) announced for them so far. I would imagine there must be others coming.
