Was the Black Sled wooden or aluminum?

Postby buhmann on Tue Feb 09, 2016 7:00 am

I rewatched the video of Big Black's final show. At the end, when they started breaking their instruments, I noticed that pieces were falling off the Sled. So that got me wondering. Is it aluminum or wood?
Nothing of note in my signature. Move along.

Black sled was a wooden double-cutaway Telecaster. I have another one now, made by the same guy. He wasn't pleased that I smashed the first one.

"Here son, this is a fine musical instrument. Take care of it and it'll last a lifetime. That'll be 800 semolians." "Thanks -- whack, bang, skingy-ding, scrapety scrapety crack whang." It felt so great to smash up a guitar like that.
