I went today to buy my tickets for Shellac and Slint in Paris. As usual, the girl behind the counter has never heard about these bands and she asks me: "You want a ticket for Sheila?"
It's not funny if you don't know Sheila, but here is a picture from the 70s:

Thanks.
I thought Init was closed and it seems I was right. All band scheduled to play at init are being moved to Circolo degli artisti, I reckon.

I caught this last night.

Shellac were total sweethearts, which may or may not have had something to do with the dude/foxy ratio, which was something like 50/50 from my vantage point. Pretty cool. Rock was brought, I especially enjoyed the "Be Prepared" track, so awesome.

Also, a lengthy chit-chat-autograph session at the end of the show and Mssr. Weston once again expressing his unmitigated love for the LCD Soundsystem.

Tops.

Fuck Shellac!

You know, Shellac wouldn't be half bad if they spiced up that live show of theirs with something like this.

Maybe take a page from the Fred Durst playbook and have a bunch pretty girls on stage dancing in Electrical coveralls.

Update: I called "Circolo degli Artisti" and they told me that the venue has changed again and that they don't know which is the new one (on their site it is written that Sondre Lerche is scheduled to play on June 2nd).

I know it is a bit strange but: does anyone know where Shellac are going to play in Rome on June, 2nd?

Bob or Steve, please help me. :)

Steve played the second half of the set with an Electrical Guitar Company Custom 500. I don't know if he had a problem with the TB500.
To my opinion, the guitar sound was much better after the guitar change.

Thanks for the photos Glutamat.
These are some of the best Shellac live shots I have seen.
ISO 800, perfect detail and color, and no noise.
Are you a pro photographer? The lowlight shots definitely show what a superb camera the 5D is - if used by the right person, in the right way :)
Care to share them in full res?
