I've been buying CDs again too recently, first time in forever.

I gripped a pristine copy of Anthony Braxton's 4xCD Willisau '91 this week for 30 euros on Ebay, a downright steal.
Excited to dive into it.

Bought used copies of Ash Bowie's Libraness LP and Ornette's Dancing in Your Head on vinyl.

Bought two Harold Budd CDs (The Pearl and the one from the Ambient series) for my girlfriend for Xmas after buying Perhaps on CD for super cheap recently from the anost winter sale (it's really lovely and has become our baby bedtime music, some more variation after countless spins of Chris Herbert, Caretaker and Basinski albums over the past months).

Bought a Varese double LP off of Ebay.

Finally found a super cheap copy of Carla Bley's Escalator Over the Hill in fantastic shape recently.

An Oskar Sala LP with one of the best worst covers in history:

Unesco's Iraq: Iqa’at - Traditional Rhythmic Structure, still sealed for cheap, great drumming record.

Was about $26 postpaid on Discogs, via an American seller. Above what I'll usually pay for a 45 but good enough music therein to be worth it. I noticed that the Tanker avec bonus tracks CD this is compiled on digitally is even a little pricey by CD standards.

Got the full version on CD, but on vinyl only own a version of this with just one LP, kinda pared down, that I think the UK branch of FN put out. Pressing is pretty great though.

Was really glad to learn, upon scanning eBay earlier, that the Mamie Lee and Tan Geers Northern Soul 45s had been reissued, possibly bootlegged. It's cool to own original copies of things, but it cuts down on being able to try out other cool music for me. (Can only ever afford a sliver of what I want most of the time!)

I bought a copy of the Chameleons' Script of the Bridge not long ago, along with the Replacements' Let It Be and AC/DC's Highway to Hell. All in excellent condition, all a few of my favorite records. A small haul but a good one.

Remastered vinyl of Jesus Lizard Goat

After listening, I go to file it on the shelf and Ta-Da! I already have it.

Which reminds me of when the family took a trip to Portland the summer before last...

As always, we spend more than a few hours at Powell's Books. I gravitate to the history section, zero in on the NYC shelf and found a couple of book right up my alley (photo essay of films shot in New York over the decades and another one about architecture). We return home and I go to file the books on the shelf and Ta-Da! I already have them...purchased on a previous trip to Portland three years earlier.

What have I learned from these events? Either consume acquired media more frequently or start donating to Alzheimer's research on a regular basis.

I did the same thing with the Stones' Let It Bleed. I get that and Beggars Banquet confused, and I still don't have the latter. Ended up giving a copy to my younger brother who liked it a lot, so it wasn't all bad, but man did I feel foolish.
