The Coda

Blur's Bugman blows the face right off my head. It brings new meaning to the term "what the fuck was that all about?"

Shit, I'd forgotten all about this song.

13 was probably Blur's best record, or at least their best late-period record. That was the album that got me into them.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

Goosebumps from the above, every time.

Also get goosebumps from The The's "Controversial Subject."

Meat Puppets, "Mountain Line."

The beautiful coda of that song sounds like a g.d. babbling brook or stream or some such thing.

Om - Gethsemane

Not sure it qualifies as a coda, but the last 2 minutes of intertwining bass lines and drum rhythms are gorgeous.

I'm a fan of Silverfish, especially Fat Axl. The last song on that record is "Ich Bin Ein Schaften Trouser". In addition to the really great "why don't you go kill yourself, fucker?", the coda/outro is a heaving joy.

This video is okay, but really - it's a good record and you should get it.

That Jim O'Rourke thing? I hadn't really heard much he'd done since GDS, but sheesh. That song sounds like a bank commercial. I thought it was going to be the pretty cool guitar part that happens at 1.30, but he loses that and goes for the dah-dee-dah stuff. You can have it if you like.

rapeman's 'inks butt crack' has a nice bit at the end. I always wonder with this song, did they rip it off some classical piece, or did they just rope in some string-playing mates to perform the bit at the end? Doesn't matter, still a great song

Surprised no one has said Surf's Up. The coda in Surf's Up may well me my favourite piece of music ever.

+1 for "Layla" which was mentioned earlier. It's the only reason I own the album.

Fleetwood Mac - "Gypsy". I want to make a Buddha Box of it. Never ceases to kill me.
