This thread was started in March and it never took off?

Do people care that little about what happens outside of Chicago?

My idea in starting this one was that it might be a more "central repository" of information (and a parallel to the Upcoming shows in Chicago thread).

But in practice, it still might just make more sense to have the separate threads like:

Upcoming shows in [name of city]

-or-

[name of band] Is Going On Tour!
My mind, it's a terrible diskette.

The Bigger Lovers are playing at Johnny Brenda's in Phila, PA on DEC #2. Awesomeness if you like Softboy-inspired harmonies from a band full of dude's who enjoy rock.

Wish I would've read this before the show! I would've had a huge table pyramid of Jack In The Box tacos to lure in the drunks!

Not a rock show, but an art show:

Starting this Saturday, March 3rd, a large selection of my Polaroid-based work (much of it from the Wish You Were Here series) will be on view in a group show at the Gallery 13 in Asbury Park, NJ. The show is called The Lo-Fi Show and it's curated by the awesome James V. Mignogna.

If you're close to Asbury, swing on by the opening (which is Saturday, March 3rd), or visit whenever.

The address of the gallery is 658 Cookman Ave, Suite 5, Asbury Park, NJ. and the phone number is 1.732.927.1317.

FB event page is here.

It's in Asbury Park, which means Bruce Springsteen is sure to attend. And Bon Jovi.

7pm All-Ages $5

Romero
Buildings (Minneapolis)
Tyranny is Tyranny

http://www.facebook.com/events/312499745479767/

More Information:
Minneapolis' Buildings channel The Jesus Lizard through 70s sleaze in a
way that appeals to both jaded AmRep fans as well as the more adventurous
hipsters. "Melt Cry Sleep" was released less than a month ago and is
already garnering a lot of national press including PopMatters, Alarm
Press, and Vice. Buildings play Madison as the last stop of a 10 day tour.

Madison's Romero headline, bringing stoner rock reminiscent of local heros
Bongzilla. http://romero.bandcamp.com/

Opening the show is the debut performance of the United Sons of Toil
post-metal side project Tyranny is Tyranny. http://tyrannyistyranny.com
Russell Emerson Hall. Throat torturer. Guitar abuser.
Current: Twelves and Bell & Circuit.

Probably not a lot of Western Mass people reading this, but throwing it out there anyway:

Chicago Underground Duo
Egg, Eggs
Gay Shapes
Thumbknuckle

May 10 at the Flywheel Arts Collective in Easthampton, MA.

Thumbknuckle is my band, this will be our first show. Also the first performance of any of my notated music in a long, long while.

Wednesday June 27
5:30pm Happy(?) Hour
The High Noon Saloon Madison WI

The Fucking Hotlights: Primal post-hardcore from Buffalo NY.
Tyranny Is Tyranny: Post-metal from members of The United Sons of Toil

http://www.facebook.com/events/426494434047900/

The Fucking Hotlights: So there’s a lot of well-deserved chatter and hype about Obits and their hybrid of classic-rock swagger and hardcore/noiserock grit. For my money, though, The Fucking Hotlights are way more visceral and rewarding. This Buffalo NY outfit ups the ante by throwing in some nods to Jesus Lizard and Circus Lupus and churns out a record that epitomizes fuck-all rock and roll. Dig it.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Fckin ... 0478914467

Tyranny Is Tyranny: Tyranny is simpler and heavier than USoT. Like USoT, Tyranny is influenced by the 90s noiserock of Amphetamine Reptile but also draws inspiration from the post-rock/post-metal hybrids of bands like Cult of Luna and Fall of Efrafa. As hinted at by the titular homage to historian Howard Zinn, the lyrical themes are an excoriation of capitalism. http://tyrannyistyranny.com/
