I want to thank/ pass along the love to RedHeadache for posting the Big'n recording from way back when. It really contributed to the completion of my work week, namely sweeping up/ out the falling of leaves.

Amazing good on you PRF!

Nothing is in stone at all, but just to start to get a rough idea what we are looking like, any bands who know they want in on the BBQ if one happens this summer, send an email to PRFBBQ2012 at gmail dot com.

Either June or July, I would reckon.

Put the name of the band in the subject line.

I'd be all over this, except that due to my immanent split-status, I will, by springtime, be vacated from the premises. Also the bougie-types down here are not so into the aluminum-rock as we.

My plan was more Bridgeport oriented. But fuck me, I'm way behind the curve.
Prime numbers and tonal clusters with Radiant Republic.

Bass in the Heavy Bombers We're on the PRF Singles Comp Q1.

Sax with Begin By Gathering Supplies.

Terrible News.

Hello all,

I am still looking for anyone who would want to contribute. I am open to all sorts of ideas for content.

I'd love music reviewers. That way we could make sure to get each and every band that deserves to be there, there. Links to band's bandcamp pages and such seem to always help the bands.

How about technical articles? Can you write a few paragraphs about how to make sure your amp doesn't electrocute you, how to set up a pedal board without losing signal, how to market your band on the internets? I'm game. It doesn't have to be as epic as "The Problem With Music", just something useful from our little community shared with the world.

Anyone going on tour and want to keep a tour diary? I'm game to help.

What other ideas do you have?

As a reference, since it's launch, the site has had 5,711 Visits from 2,845 Unique Visitors who have looked at 16,608 pages. The site also has 141 Facebook Likers, some of whom I have no idea who they are.

It's more than just us looking at it.

Thanks,
Jim

I've been thinking about this, as well as covering other local performaces. Any ideas you have outside of me writing ina notebook, please feel free to share. Thanks for the kind reminder.

I've also pimped this site to more than a few people not familiar with EA. I hope that counts as part of the upswing. It's nice to know people outside of this community are taking note.

Texts from the Road? Emails from Behind the Kick Drum?

Or, I kind of like the idea of writing in a notebook. Then take a picture of it and we can post that. It'll be all meta and stuff.

Whenever someone I know mentions that they want to start up some kind of music site/blog/whatever, I always say that I want to review music venues. Nobody ever reviews music venues, but everyone seems to have an opinion about them. I've never done this because these sites never get off the ground.

So yeah, I'd be up for reviewing some music venues. Once I get some free time, that is. Kind of hard to come by at the moment with a newborn at home.

Does anyone know how to find videos from the 2010 PRF BBQ? I can't seem to find them on the PRFBBQ.com site or through youtube.

My old band The Ethyl Mermen, played at one of the Quenchers shows and I wanted to link to those videos on our FB page because I can't currently play my guitar/bass following suffering a stroke in May.

Any help finding them is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

This is a pretty common question, let me try to help.

The old video stream is gone,

the prfbbq.com site changed hands (I'm the caretaker for it now?) and we're trying to rebuild it with what we have, but it's slow, slow going.

I'll try to find out, there's a treasure trove of stuff that was lost in that youtube deletion and let's just say that we're going to do our best to ensure that doesn't ever, ever happen again.
