Just wanted to point out that a weekday must-do in Louisville is to head out to Hurstbourne Pkwy, right off I-64, and hit Shalimar's lunch buffet. Holy fucking motherfucking fuck is that some good shit.

That's some truth right there.

And I know I, BER and others have said this already, but Vietnam Kitchen on South 3rd is fantastic.

Since Little Jerusalem on Taylor closed, I need to know where to get a good Gyro.

Any suggestions?

I live on the southwest end - guessing I'm going to have to drive a bit.

The last time I was in the Highlands, about a year ago, there was a Greek/Med hole-in-the-wall on Bardstown Rd. just up from Bonnycastle. Not mind-blowing, but cheap and serviceable if you're craving a gyro and happen to be in the area. Not worth making the drive from the South End for, but OK. Business wasn't exactly booming there, so I'm not sure if they're still open.

Is there still a Cuban restaurant on 3rd St. Road? I forget the name, but I had some damn good picadillo and camarones there some years back.

Not sure about 3rd, but I know Havana Rumba near Shelbyville Rd is damn tasty.

I can't believe someone booked a show at Woody's. I used to live in the house adjacent to it, and let me tell you, true entertainment is watching the same group of bros try figure out whether this tranny who always wears lacy socks with high heels is a tranny or a chick on THREE SEPARATE NIGHTS whilst loading her into the car.

The diner across the street rules though, now that it stopped getting robbed and changed its name from Juanita's to Under New Management.

Hey, my girlfriend will be in Louisville all of next month performing with Second City.
I plan to spend a week or two there myself.
The French Goodbye, Drumber, Goosano, Tony Mendoza: Winner or Loser?, The Bitter Tears, The Nurse Novels, Let's Get Out Of This Terrible Sandwich Shop, The Annoyance, sometimes Second City

Ruff Patches
Karass
Chime Hours
Captain Ron Today
Twin Language (I'm playing guitar on this)

All of these are good, but the Karass and Chime Hours albums are choice. Also, check out Shane Simm's old band Ayin at: http://www.myspace.com/ayin2 because not only do they rule, but I think hearing Shane's new stuff is a lot more interesting if you've heard what he came from.

Just getting to know Chimes Hours and what little I have heard, I like a lot. Familiar with Ayin and they do rule. Do you have any solo stuff or side stuff Pawl? If so, send it my way.

Every Monday myself, a few PRF members (Snowblinder, Pawl_S, dissappearo) and handful of people from Louisville bands gather at Spring Street bar and grill around 9pm for 45 cent hot wings and 6 dollar domestic pitchers. I want to extend the hot sauce and ranch covered offer to any other PRF members in the area that want join us in cracking-wise, talking gear, making fun of sportsball, and eating wings. This is an on going event that happens every Monday.

Tonight at Cahoots: the great STNNNG, SLUTBANGER, and Zombie Chickens from Outer Space will be playing. Should be one for the books.

Do it Liz! Bring a crew. I have a HUGE apartment that could easily fit about 40 PRF'rs.

Be on the lookout for an upcoming PRF BBQ: Kentucky Derby 2012 thread next year around this time.
