im there.
on a related note, my car decided to fuck itself on the way to pickup a guitar in new albany. got stuck on bardstown road for about 6 hours last sunday. all told, it was a pretty good place to get stuck. hung out at book and music exchange and read 'ronin' by frank miller then walked through douglass blvd and the highlands south of cherokee park. it was absolutely beautiful. i should know more ville-ians to hang out with

Hey arablue, sorry I missed you.

The cops shut Scratch Acid down - they had a few songs left in their set, so it was a little bit of a bummer. Apparently David Yow and another band member got mistakenly handcuffed earlier that day because of the cops responding to a malfunctioning alarm at a nearby shop. Jeeze, I know they're just doing their job, but come on Louisville cops.

Louisville Friends,

Sunday, December 4th my band (the fervor) will be playing at Zanzabar with R.Ring (featuring kelley deal of breeders fame and mike montgomery of ampline) and Black Swans. Come out if you are so inclined. You will my see increasingly pregnant wife rock for one of the last times before our band goes on maternity leave.

ERawk and I are thinking of doing a road trip over the MLK Day weekend (like, this Friday-Monday).

Anything going on in Louisville that weekend? Anybody up for a party?

There's always something going on. Come down, we'll party. PM me your number and I'll give you mine as well.

Oh, if you all stay through Monday night, there is a free Trophy Wives show happening at a place called Baxter's 942.

This Friday, January 13th, I will be reading and playing at The Bard's Town (Bardstown Road and Speed Ave.) in Louisville as part of the InKY Reading Series. There's an open mic at 7:00; I'll be playing at 7:30; and then there will be poetry readings by me and Norman "BUzz" Minnick, singer of Bush League.

For my half-hour musical set, I'll be joined by Jamie Daniels Colvin on violin. I really hate performing without a full, rockin' band, so for those of you who enjoy stripped down "unplugged" performances, this will be a rare opportunity to hear the songs pretty much the way they were written before layers and layers of Chrome were applied.

Unless there is a major storm that develops between now and 3PM, it looks like we are going to head down tonight. I'm thinking we should be at the Bard's Town by about 8-9PM CST or 9-10PM EST (I think Louisville is Eastern Time...). We will likley miss Brett's set unless he's doing a 4-hour Skynrd-type set. If people are hanging around post-show, then we'll definitely be around for that.

I'm a dumbass and lost my phone, so please call Colonel or contact him via Facebook or here. (he can look at the internet while I'm driving )

Oh, and if anyone wants to save us from the horrors of La Quinta, that would be nice.
You guys don't mind that I crash your little sausage party, right?

Will be good to see you both, Tony. Here's who I've got:

Jamie Colvin: violin
Justin Davis: bass guitar, vocals
Colleen Doyle: vocals, tambourine
Mark Hamilton: lead guitar
David Wright: drums

Pat McClimans, unfortunately, cannot make it.

I really want an electric piano player, if you know anybody. I don't mean a "keyboard player"; I mean somebody who plays a Wurly or a Rhodes all the fucking time.

Anyone in or near Louisville two weeks from today, we'll be playing with a brand new Louisville band called Skin Tone (Elliott, AKA DudeGuyBroMan's new band) at Zanzabar. 2100 S. Preston St. Doors at 9pm. We'll also be doing the double drummer lineup for the first time since May.

Anybody know of a cheap place to buy and have a car stereo installed? My '04 Honda CD player is dying a slow death. I just want to be able to plug in my phone for some road tripping, but I have no auxiliary port. I've tried various FM transmitters, but they've all given me too much static. Thanks!

I too need to know this information. I have a dash-mounted DVD/CD/Aux player I need installed in my PT Cruiser. I am sure there is some ghetto place on Broadway that do our jobs on the cheap side, John W. I will look into it more.

Hey PRF touring bands: I am booking full time at a awesome new bar in downtown Louisville called Haymarket Whiskey Bar. The place has a giant venue/stage area in the back, 60+ bourbons, 40+ beers, smoking indoors (tobaccy and green). It's good times. If your band is going on tour or know a band going on tour and needs a Louisville gig, send me a PM here or email me at derbyunderground@gmail.com.
