Anyone know of legendary Brisbane band SixFtHick?

They were so great tonight, so much energy. Definitely catch them if you get the opportunity.

Heavy on the Jesus Lizard / Skin Graft vibe, but still pretty good.

Songs of Sodomy and the Compost of Aethyr is the best NZ/Aus album this year, and for many years. it's dense and thick and queasy and will reward listeners for years for come. proper art.

FYI, since Tristan is a Havelock North boy, I'm pretty sure that both "Mata" and "Mountaineater" are references to The Legend of Te Mata, a giant who tried to eat his way through a mountain range.

My mum comes from Havelock North and when I was little she used to take me to my grandmother's house when she went to work, and on the drive over you get a good view of the peak; looking out for profile of Te Mata lying next to the big bite became part of our morning commute.
