Yes, it is true. The Midyett Rub has now been made aware to the gourmand elites (and masses):

Midyett? Is that correct? I always thought it was Midgett.

Congrats Tim - I will try this very soon regardless of the spelling.

Congratulations, Tim. I had 25 guests over in August and all complimented your rub.

I've gotta make this rub! I wonder how it'll do in a long, slow cook on my smoker.

Article is front pagin' on BonAppetit.com.

Salut, all!

I'm all for Tim bottling this stuff. We have a shaker of "Midgett Rub" that lives next to our salts and pepper grinder...no one has commented. Tempted to not upgrade name spelling for next cannister.

"Carl" cracked me up.

Nice--big congrats. Sumac fans should try the sumac/black-olive crust on the salmon at Trenchermen--one of the better things I've eaten in a while.

It was. I changed my name a few months ago.

"Midget" is now a pejorative w/respect to people. Happened over the last 15yrs or so. People under 30 tend to get that implicitly; over 30, everyone's like what are you talking about.

I don't care for myself, but I have an 8yr-old, and it makes her life slightly easier, maybe, eventually. Plus Midyett is the original jam from old times.

Ha ha. I can only hope.

I'm looking into having some bottled up for kicks. I ain't doing no truckload, so it's taking a little while to sort out. If you have any ins, any of you, with, uh, spice...bottlers? let me know.

Thanks, Matt!
