I drafted 10th. I noticed there were going to be a lot of solid bats that would be available later. Some bats that I think can be decent contributors even went undrafted. So I tried to hoard top tier starting pitching.

I picked a lot of Fangraphs projection system sweethearts like Franco, Grichuk, Park and Conforto. I hope those robots are right.

I nabbed Betts over Bogaerts this year, which I am into. More power and steals? Yes please. Seems like my entire OF is made of 20/20 guys, besides CarGo who traded the steals for dingers. So basically:

Tried something a bit different this year, especially with pitching. So here's hoping it pulls me out of the gutter I found myself in last season.

Edit: Carson Smith already has forearm issues. WTF

On the off chance that anyone here plays in a H2H league that needs another player, please let me know. I'm happy to take over a crappy team from a deadbeat player. The league I've played in for years switched to Roto with very basic scoring this year and I really prefer H2H.

I don't have a space in a league for you, but, yeah Roto sucks. H2H is so much better.

Haha I'm (Merkle's Boner) playing my brother (Duck Snort Import) who blanked me 10-0 last week. I drafted poorly (I'm talking to you dallas keuchel and chris archer). It doesn't help that half of my offense is made up of Cubs and they're pretty much already in the playoffs so Maddon is resting everybody. I fully expect to lose this week, but it pisses me off more that it will be to my little brother. Oh well. smh

i think i renewed last year's league and everyone that was in the league last year should have received an invite for this year.

there are also two open spots. this is the link to the league, if two people want to join:

Today I noticed I had a full roster. Did I miss a draft, or were teams autopicked?

Autopicked. I have about 1/2 of the top tier of shortstops. I've proposed about 8 trades for one that have all been rejected. Someone make me an offer, preferably a SP.

I didn't even realize I was in the league this year. I definitely need to juggle my roster. It should be fun to try to assemble a decent team out of an autopicked team.

i can't see how to make that work this year. we can't have an odd number of teams. i'm not sure how you would draft a team either. next year.

Merkle's Boner is in first by a hair. I think I'm just copying FM Ty Webb's strategy from 2015.

1. Have Paul Goldschmidt.
2. If your starting pitching sucks, just get as many decent closers and set-up men as possible and play as few starters as possible.

the Quahogs have had a solid few weeks -- hopeful for the playoffs.
