Meh - how many people who bitch about pointy metal guitars are perfectly fine with other weird shit like those 70s Teisco or Fujigen guitars, though? I love my shitty King V. Fuck it.

Strat Am Vint '62 (late 90s I believe), Westbury Deluxe (1980), Yamaha LL16 in ugly sunburst (2010). I am quite fond of them. The Westbury in particular, her neck and heavy weight and slightly sticky black surface, puts me in the mood for tender love. And the Strat resonates very nicely, like a big house made of wire and amber in the dry mountain wind. And the Yamaha is loud, and if I rub ever so softly the friction ridges of my fingerprint across one string, she whispers beautifully and sings slender harmonics, and it was cheap.

Holy shit.

Do you agree that the Evertune bridge is the best guitar-related invention since strings?

The closest I got was a U.S. Jackson Kelly KE2, but I kept breaking strings w/ the Floyd. It had to go.

What do you like about the evertune? What should I be looking for when I use the guitar?

I also wish I had time to play this new one:

yeah. It's nearly dead mint. A little buckle rash on the back, but it pretty much looks like it's been in a case since 1970. Even has all the case candy and the keys to the lock.

I'm not going to point out the fact that you don't need to be 40 years old or be a doctor to need a Les Paul.

I guess I just did.

It looks better with the pickgaurd on.

I'd think having P90s on it might mitigate any residual (and completely misplaced) chooch factor that would go into it being a Les Paul.

I get the dislike for strats but never got why it was a thing for LPs except maybe Slash, I dunno. Swami > Slash anyway.

Regardless, seems like either way folks still put their mitts on these instruments and are always like "ok I get why these are traditionally the most popular guitars on the market."

Aesthetically, I think Fender offset guitar are top of the heap, but damn if I don't stick with a Les Paul because of how they feel. Just feels right.
