Waow. I just reran the Fogerty pedal by my friend again and he came up with a digital-age soultion:

Actually, I guess you could sample a good Fogarty passage
("aiiiiiieeeeee" for example), loop it seamlessly, make it the control tambre for a vocoder, then play your guitar into the vocoder.

Good thing Guitar Center is having a sale again.

Ill Tone will be mine. It will be.

They were from El Cerrito. Not the bayou, not Green River, not where Proud Mary keeps on boynin', but El Cerrito.

No band that I can think of has conciously misled their audience about their origins to the extent that CCR did. Oh wait, Magma. Never mind.

That is one of my favorite things about this band. About a year and a half ago I wanted to start a band in the same vein as CCR because I was completely in awe of how simple yet amazing this band was. Totally 'econo' as Mr. Watt would say.

What about Sun Ra? He said he was from Saturn. I have a hard time believing that.

So not crap.

When I was 15 or so and not very well versed in rock history, I went to go see the lead singer of CCR live.

man was I disappointed. His entire set was an hour and a half of light rock piano ballads.

It was not long after this show that I discovered that Dan Fogelberg was not in CCR.

Great, great rock and roll songs, played with much fire and a minimum of bullshit. Certainly one of the finest American bands of their day, even if "classic rock" radio has made a number of their songs painfully unavoidable.

NOT CRAP!

Signore "Redline" also suggested Mystery, Mr. Ra.

Did anybody ever prove he wasn't from Saturn?

There are newspaper clips from El Cerrito confirming the Hoodoo Bayou Boys' origins.

Please note: I LIKE that they pretended they weren't from El Cerrito.

Don't know why I love them, don't care. They talk to a part of my brain/heart that I can't reach with logic.
They're one of my favorite bands ever.

not great, but not crap...if i happen to be subjected to classic rock radio and one of their songs comes on i welcome it as a breath of fresh air...but i doubt that would ever extend to me owning any of their music...

Yes. Lodi CA.

But that's not important. Lodi is simply any conservative backwater town in which a person finds himself trapped, whether literally or figuratively. At least that's what I hear in that song. Seems pretty straightforward.

Apparently, there are some things to dowhen stuck in Lodi. I like that song. Not Crap.

Good guitar sound, kind of a "thick" jangle. And some good songs too. Not crap, "inauthenticity" and all.

'm not a fan of Fogerty.

I remember reading something about them that really turned me off to CCR, it was something that mentioned how they never really concentrated on making great albums, just popular singles.

I really loathe listening to Bad Moon Rising, I just think someting terrible is going to happen to me while, or soon thereafter listening to it. Maby The Shining has something to do with that, sorry boys, I wouldnt put too much hope for the Creedence. CRAP

CCR and Elvis was the only rock my dad had time for. I always prefered CCR. In fact, I learned guitar by playing along to their records. Last year I was asked to fill in for the guitarist in a wedding band and I did it just so I could play all these great songs once again.

Not crap.
